The project went smooth and was full of excitement. I look forward to having Frank and his family over to enjoy our new kitchen.

Working with CPC was a nightmare, almost from beginning. Mr. Cueva is a smooth talker, but unfortunately misrepresented his ability to complete our home as promised. Most all of his subcontractors were unlicenced and underqualified. He used the draw $ from our project to complete other unhappy client's work, then would not have the money to do our work. There would be weeks of time when no one would show up to work on our home. Mr. Cueva himself rarely visited the site, and we had to manage the day-to-day oversight of the project. Mr. Cueva was always promising he would make things right, but then would fail to deliver. CPC ran in to major fianancial problems during the course of our project, and many of the subs went unpaid for months (despite the fact we gave CPC the money for those subs). We ultimately had to file a claim against his surety bond to recover the monies owed to us.
Response from Central Pacific Construction
"It hurts me as a person and a business owner to re-visit a site such as this and know that potential customers wil read negative postings and potentially make the decision not to hire us due to the negative information being advertised. Like any business who serves hundreds of customers throughout the years. Unfortunately, there are instances where the clients and the business will not agree under any term and condition. Once there is turmoil involved in the midstream of a project, the opposite party will do and see what it takes to destroy the reputation of their ex-contractor. The customer is protected by the contractors license board, our liability insurance, bond and civil lawsuits. In addition, they are able to slander your name publicly as this family has done. Not all cases are one sided as this client has made it sound. Adverse information like this affects licensed contractors for years, it makes it very difficult for us to conduct business and to convince future clients to trust doing business with. Unfortunately, in order for a business like us to dilute negative reports such as the two that are posted herein. We need to advertise thousands of dollars with them as well as have our current Happy Clients post positive recommendations [Member Information Removed] that the negative postings are lowered to the bottom of the list. We hope that our explanation is acceptable, but most importantly that you believe what we wrote and that you can understand our side. We are a fully insured and licensed Construction Company. We have a vast list of satisfied clients that would love to refer us. There is also a large list of past customers that call us for up-to-date projects. We hope that you will give us an opportunity to help complete your project. Sincerely, Frank Cueva Central Pacific Construction (805) 471-4749"
