I hired Jason to install an alumawood patio cover early 2013. I originally was working with another person (Carl from HQC whom I would also never hire again) who referred me to him. Jason took the necessary measurements and we planned a day to install (didn't go smooth due to Carl who was sub-contracting through Jason didn't communicate with him and the original days I took off to complete the work had to be changed because right hand didn't communicate with the left). Jason's pricing, I admit was much lower that that well known company with the commercials. When the day arrived to install, Jason and his son showed up to start working. They worked hard and removed my old junky patio cover (it was bad) and hauled everything off. The next day they came back with the product for install. The measurements first off were off. I live in a condo and have a shared wall, they did not measure in a way to make sure that the patio cover would be flush and work around the eve that hung over. I, a homeowner and not a patio installer left the measuring in their hands and realize I should have asked more questions as to how he planned to install around the eve and he should have had the knowledge to tell me the length I wanted wouldn't work. They began the install and instead of it be flush like I figured it would be, it is 2 feet from the wall (picture a shared wall with neighbor, two feet uncovered patio and the the cover starts), now because they didn't place the cover equally between the measured patio area and had to move two feet to the right, the cover now sits two feet over my patio and onto dirt. They took one day to install the cover and they seemed to know what they were doing. I do not think the product they installed was a bad product but it does leak. When this was installed we really hadn't had any rain. I asked Jason if I had any problems once the rainy season starts will there be an issue and he said no. I noticed immediately after the first rain that I had two leaks in the middle of my cover. I called Jason and after a couple follow up calls he did come over and take a look. He stated that the only reason he can think of why it was leaking was because the screws that were used must have been drilled in a little too far (again their error) he sealed over the screws with caulking and called it a day. The following storm we had the two spots were still leaking. Well, we can say that two months of failed appointments and now turned into my last 5 calls have not even been returned. I still have a patio cover that leaks and it's unsightly because it's off center.
