Solar Price Discovery Inc.

I initially signed a contract with Solar Price Discovery in Oct. 2020 to replace my roof with a new one. One year later, in Oct. 2021, they told me that the permit had been issued, but that structural work needed to be done to support the new roof. This doubled the price. The sun-contractor who did the structural work refused to have his workers keep the areas where they were working clean. They left their empty water bottles and used masks all over my house, even in rooms where they weren’t working. They could have put plastic in doorways to prevent dust from getting out of the work areas, but they did not, and they would not sweep up after themselves. The sub-contractor left all of the rubble from the demolition in my back yard for two months. I repeatedly asked him to remove it, but he only did so after I wrote a negative review on the company website. After removing it, there were still nails all over my backyard. The sun-contractor then told me they weren’t paying him enough for the job, and kept harassing me to give him money. I asked him to show me his expenses and the amount Solar Price Discovery was paying him. He refused, saying that this was privileged information, but that I should pay him extra because Solar Price Discovery wasn’t paying him enough. Solar Price Discovery also refused to tell me how much they were paying him, but encouraged me to give him more money beyond what our contract stated. The roof went up fairly well, although they did some damage to the exterior walls of the house while removing the old roof. Solar Price Discovery did not want to repair the damage done to the walls. There are still some holes in the wall at the roofline. When the sub-contractor for the solar panels came for the installation, they began work, and I heard hammering on the roof. After about an hour, they told me they were leaving because the job was too dangerous (I have a two-storey house with a steep roof). I asked about the hammering, and they said they couldn’t find the rafters, but they patched the holes. I went outside and saw a large section of the new roof with white blotches, the patch that they had smeared on the new roof. I told Solar Price Discovery that it was unacceptable for them to damage the roof like that and cover it with patches, and that they should replace all the damaged shingles. They said they don’t do that when they install solar panels, they just make holes until they find the rafters and then patch. I told them that they didn’t even install the solar panels, they just damaged shingles and spread patch on them, and it looks bad and no longer seems waterproof. They may not have patched every hole. I still have no solar panels, and I now have a patched up “new” roof. Solar Price Discovery is very expensive, hires sub-contractors to do the work for low prices and sometimes in unsafe conditions, to keep their profits high. They are not interested in customer support. I would NOT recommend this company.

Wonderful experience overall. Great company! Met all of our expectations and much more. We asked them to install a system that would completely offset our electric bill and we got a better solution. We're very happy with the product.

From Yoan's visit at my house to explain the process to final completion, this company was so professional in all aspects! A few phone calls and follow-up visits to make sure all elements of the project were working correctly and they did. Ask for Yoan or Ariel.

Solar Price Discover installed solar panels as per our contract and they were always on time. They removed all materials when done and kept it clean at all times. They even fixed a damaged area I had on the roof from a previous storm at no cost. I'm happy overall and will use again for our next house.

I interviewed 3 different solar companies for the installation and liked them the best. It was worth every dollar as the staff is great and did an excellent work. The owners are very approachable and had fast responses to all my questions. I'd definitely go with them again if I had to.

We had our solar system installed 2weeks ago. They provided lots of references, answered questions, and gave a competitive price. All of the guys doing the service were very polite and professional too.

It was mostly very good. The whole project was managed by Ariel and he made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction.

Excellent! Ariel gave me a one week estimate to complete the roof and solar and it was timely completed which was important to me as a big storm arrived a few days later. They dealt with the city directly in terms of the inspection, permit and changeover with DWP. They made the process very easy. I cannot recommend Ariel and his company enough.

It was excellent. I contacted other companies and said they couldn't do that but Ariel did all the work he found out the process on how to do that and now I have solar panels on my mobile home.

These guys are awesome!!! Not only are they super professional, they are honest, kind, and patient. I got quotes from 5 other companies and at the end decided to go with Solar Price Discovery. They gave me the best vibe and we're the most detail oriented in explaining to me my costs and returns and the entire process. Living in socal, my electrical bills were through the roof (no pun intended) but now with solar I am paying pennies every month. They showed me why purchasing solar is a much better idea than leasing it (as such with most companies) and were there to help me through the financing process and taxes write offs. I had no idea that when you lease the solar panels there is no write offs! All in all, I couldn't recommend these guys enough. It is one of my rarest positive experiences with a service provider, let alone a contractor.
