First let me say I have never met a contractor I was completely happy with. That being said, our experience with Referral was pretty good but not perfect. Edan was the one who we worked with primarily. We met with him before close of escrow and agreed on plans. He gave us an estimate and guaranteed they would not charge more than the estimate unless we decided to extend the work. He also guaranteed that they would finish the work in the time frame quoted or deduct a large amount for each day they went over. (They actually did go over by a couple of days, but it rained hard through most of the three weeks they quoted, so we did not give them a hard time about it.) We closed escrow just before Christmas and he was ready to meet with us as soon as we were able, which happened to be on new year's day! We went around to several hardware and home building stores and selected the materials we would use. They came out on time and had a small crew do the work. The kitchen came out fabulous. We had to take out a pantry, redo a wall, and add a couple of cabinets, as well as redo the floor in travertine and redo the counter top in granite. They also completely remodeled the master bathroom in travertine, new toilet and sink, completely new shower (travertine floow and walls up to the ceiling). They moved our washer and dryer out to the the garage so we could use the (large) laundry room as a small office. The work was done well for the most part. Particularly the travertine tile. Moshe, the tile guy, really knows his stuff. There was one part where we had a major problem, which was the kitchen sink faucet. It kept going wobbly on us. They had us get a new fixture twice, but it was the installation, not the fixture that was the problem. After a lot of aggravation and three or four extra trips out, they finally got it right. To their credit, they followed up on that and a few other minor problems until we were completely satisfied. I would use them again, but not on plumbing. Edan is great to work with, easy to contact and very responsive.
