PODS Moving & Storage

The experience was a little bit of good and not so good. They did an okay job.

Great! We were very happy with the guys they sent to pack and move our belongings. Moving companies are more or less priced the same at a per hour rate. So we decided to go with a name that we know to make sure our things are handled with care. CORRECT DECISION!

They came, packed everything in our house in a pod and shipped to our location. I put my locks. It' now waiting to be delivered for us to unpack. It saved us alot of headaches by not using moving companies.

I thought the price was reasonable. I had a great move. The glass in one picture was cracked, nothing else was broken, everything was exactly the way I had packed. It was wonderful. I was very pleased with the service.

I asked for a few different pricing plans, which took us 1/2 hour navigate, i also asked for options when i get more details. Once we got threw that, i said my area has restrictions parking restrictions and we needed a permit. after giving my zip code. I was told they would have the code, in the hours conversation, they kept reading me the code for los angeles, i am in santa monica, not the same.
After i gave the date of June 13th for delivery, she kept saying that the 11th is booking up explained again the 13th is not the 11th.
I asked to rent blankets and purchase a lock, it is not on my details
I must say, if this is any indication of how the company operates, i can only imagine what comes next. i am still waiting for her to figure out the fax number of where to send the permit details, really

My driveway has a sharp curve and the street I live on was inclined, so I wanted to make sure they would be able to deliver the container before I ordered it (otherwise they charge something like $200 for non-delivery if they can't place the container on site). I called the customer service on a Wednesday to ask if they could check the location (either virtually with Google Earth or drive by). The lady was very nice and got a hold of someone at the local office who said he would do a drive by since they couldn't just look at it via Google Earth. She also gave me his name and number, just in case I didn't hear back.

By Friday, I still hadn't heard back, so I called and left a message with the local guy and called the customer service who told me they had not heard anything back yet. She thought they could just look at via Google Earth, but wasn't sure. I wanted to move during the next week, so I told them I needed to know. I also emailed the and quot;localand quot; sales rep (who was in Florida). I got his out of office, but he did email me on Tuesday morning to say that he would look into it, and he left me a voicemail. I left him a voicemail and emailed to let him know that I needed to know that morning.

I gave up and am going with SmartBox instead. Their boxes are smaller and they were able to confirm that using Google Earth, they can place the boxes at my location. It took me about 15 minutes using a web chat with SmartBox to confirm my questions, and set up a delivery for the next day. I have a newborn, and it is difficult for me to find time to chat on the phone, nonetheless have to wait almost a week to find out nothing. After I set up the delivery, the PODS sales rep called me, and I politely told him that I had gone with someone else. Ironically, he looked on Google Earth and thought that they could deliver the container...

Although the PODS containers are nicer, the customer service was really non-responsive - especially in this day and age. I would still consider using them in the future as long as the location they are dropping off at is flat and has good access for their truck...just don't expect a response if you aren't sure about your location access! Otherwise, their website was very nice for estimating and ordering the containers - all costs (except the non-delivery charge) were upfront.

I feel like they are just too big of a company to give personalized service to odd requests like mine (although you think they would have some way to determine whether or not they can drop off a container or not). If they could have at least just sent me an email or voicemail saying they were still looking into it, that would have been helpful, but instead, they just left me hanging.

They were incredibly good, in that, they delivered the container when I asked them to. They kept it in storage, and everything was fine. They delivered it when they were supposed to. They delivered the container, and my family and I packed all our stuff, so we got to put it in the way we wanted, with no breakage. They picked it up and kept it in storage for me till I could get another house. When they delivered it, they brought it here and set it in my driveway, and we unloaded it ourselves. I thought they were very reasonable, and did an excellent job. They were at least $1000 cheaper than anybody else. I was very pleased with their service and have no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend them to others. I just used them again this week. I had a bunch of stuff in storage at my daughter's place, and we went down and got a pod and loaded all the stuff in there. They will be delivering it to my home here the day after tomorrow.
