"Jennifer" was very pleasant and helpful in first arranging for her husband, "Jim", to come out and take a look at our piano and its issues. Jim arrived early on the agreed-upon day, and went through the entire piano, giving us a firm repair-cost quote for all of the work, on-the-spot. We agreed, and he removed the entire hammer mechanism assembly for rebuilding & repairs at their shop. He came back two weeks later (again, arriving early) and spent two hours reinstalling it all and then doing it's first re-tuning in many years. (He will be returning in another couple of weeks to re-tune it again, to make sure it's all good). I've found this company to be very knowledgeable, reliable and prompt, and can not only highly recommend them to anyone, but will now be more diligent and have Jim come back once a year to keep our instrument in good tune! Thanks, Jim and Jennifer!

I had only wanted my piano tuned, but they suggested doing more work on my piano. So they took the mechanism home so they could fix it. I was not originally prepared to pay for repairs but I went along with it. They did a good job tuning. They were on time and very prompt with answering my call. I didn't have to wait long. My piano sounds great now.
Description of Work: They tuned and repair my piano.

One key is still not working on one piano. My piano was tuned but our old piano tuner would leave our piano in great shape (dusted keys, took pride in his work).
Description of Work: I asked to have our two pianos tuned. One piano in our house and another in my parents home. Also repairs on some keys had to be done on my parents' piano. Over the phone I was quoted an approximate $160. When Jim came by to tune our pianos he dismantlled my parents piano to do work at the shop and recommnended that both get dehumidifiers for $1400 each piano. He said that he would return the following week with tops of keys that were missing on our piano and did not tune my piano until the following week. He returned the following week to tune & repair my parents piano. One key is still not working. He tuned my piano but did not have the keys. He left my piano dusty and it took him only 40 min. I would not recommend their services because I feel that Jim was just trying to make money by recommending dehumidifiers that would have cost $2800 (way more than the cost of the pianos).

In November I requested a quote to move and tune a piano and I never received a response. I again sent a request 12/7/2013 and asked for the quote and if they were unable or uninterested in moving/tuning my piano to please let me know. Again I have not heard from them. They seem to be unresponsive which is not very professional.

Sweet Sound Piano was a great find. I used their services to move an old piano from one county to the next. The experience was great down to the lady ( I believe her name is Jennifer) who answered the phone to dropping off my piano in my living room. Jim was very professional in his response and repair of the piano. I would definately recommend their services. Cash, check/credit card ok.
Description of Work: I used them to move a piano. This piano is 30+ years old and had some damage. They were able to repair.

They did great work. The estimate was correct, they promptly showed up at the scheduled time, moved the piano with no issues, identified some problems with the piano that we should address (repadding the keys, humidity damage, etc) and then followed up with all the things we needed done. They worked around my schedule, which is very hectic, but did not complain. Our piano sounds even better than before!
Description of Work: They moved our baby grand piano from Union City to Saratoga. Then they repadded the keys, installed a humidifier and tuned it a few weeks later.

I looked for weeks for a professional piano mover, including on Angie's List. This company did not come up on Angie's List as it is listed only under tuning. I found them on the web. But they do everything related to the care and feeding of pianos. I had already had my newly refinished floors dented by my contractor who used a small dolly and stopped when he saw what was happening. So I was very nervous about damage to my house. Jim was very understanding. Very professional. Immediately assessed some damage that had been done due to excess moisture while sitting on the patio during a renovation, and told me what it would need. But no pressure, just information, and I learned I could have had them store my piano in their warehouse under careful humidity control for a mere $50/month. But I digress. Point is, he and an employee moved my piano from patio into a room at the end of a hallway which required their turning piano on its side! They did it effortlessly, with a monster dolly and cooperation/strenght. Jim identified that I should remove music rack before they put a quilted cover over piano to move it, unscrewed it and screwed it back on afterwards. I would highly, highly recommend this company for any piano needs. Jim is a pianist who made my piano sound like it never has, before and after moving and despite damage from excess humidity. And he has the coolest business cards ever. They fold into a piano!
