Sean provided a bid of $800 and an immediate start date, and he kept to our agreement. He worked alone, so the job took 3 days. We're very pleased with the results. We have since painted and the ceiling looks great. Sean's work was very good, he did what he said he would do, and the price was more than fair - a bargain, really. This is an extremely messy project. There is no way around it. During the bid process, Sean told us what to remove (mainly items on the walls and on the tops of furniture.) He said he would move everything else and cover in plastic, which he did. However, it's still a filthy job, and furniture, lamps, flooring were covered in ceiling "gunk." In addition to the mess in the house, my garage floor is covered in white "stuff" which also made its way to the driveway. Since we live in an condo association, having a mess in the common area is problematic. Although based on the initial conversation it was nice to think that the prep would be minimal and easy on us, ultimately, I would have preferred a more realistic assessment of how messy it was going to be. It might have been worth it to wait another week and empty the room more thoroughly. And although I think there is probably no way to eliminate the mess, finding ways to reduce it more or clean up after himself more thoroughly will result in truly delighted clients. It's the one area that I thought Sean could step up his professionalism, so I didn't give him an A in that category.
