Comfort Zone Heating and Cooling, Inc (czhnc.com) was assigned by First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation (home warranty company) to come out and resolve the problem with our AC condenser.
I was supposed to receive a phone call 30 minutes before the visit so I could meet the technician at our house. Instead, the technician showed up without warning. There happened to be a plumber working on the premises, and the plumber called me to say the AC technician was present.
The AC technician had difficulty understanding me over the phone, but was anxious to proceed, so I said, "go ahead" and remained at my work place. The AC technician called back some hours later and said the problem was fixed, that it was a shorted wire. He then had the plumber sign his work order.
When I came home, the AC was not working, and showed the same symptoms as before. When I inspected the unit, I saw that all the AC technician had done was to strip the insulation off a control wire, cut the wires, connect them back together with wire nuts and wrap some electrical tape around that.
My father was an electrician for 40 years, so I recognize a fake electrical repair when I see it.
Worse, if there was not a short before, there will be the next time it rains.
I'm now in the process of getting someone else out to properly fix the AC.
Response from Comfort Zone Heating & Air
"Hello [Member Name Removed]. I am sorry for your negative experiences but I believe you have the wrong Comfort Zone. We do not handle home warranty cases nor do we own the website domain "czhnc.com" you mentioned Unfortunately, we have been confused w/ another comfort zone heating and air company too many times before. We at COMFORT ZONE HEATING & AIR (license #: 949871) take pride in our customer service, work performance, and technicians. Once again, I am sorry for your experience and hope you were able to solve your HVAC needs. Should you have any questions, please contact me at 323-461-0871. Thank you., KE"

My AC unit stopped putting out cold air, just as the weather was starting to heat up. I was referred to Comfort Zone by a family friend and I was very satisfied.  The technician was on time, very professional, and didn't try to talk me into a new unit or other work that wasn't necessary.  I found the price to be fair and the service was great.  I will defiantly be using them in the future.

thermostat failed twice, and fixed first, but not the second time today. It would take a graduate of M.I.T. to program the thermostat. The manual for the thermostat is poorly written and vague. This is my opinion.

The price was very reasonable. He is fair and honest and won?t do work that doesn?t need to be done.

It did not go well, because the HVAC system was improperly designed in the first place for my large two-story home. It was never adequate to cool we of our upstairs bedrooms were our entry hall. Maintenance scheduling was always a struggle. We had maintenance contracts for semiannual service. I always had to call and remind them to schedule a service call. Sometimes, just reaching them on the telephone was a frustrating experience. I personally liked the individual family members that were the principals of the business. I wish I could have written a favorable report. Hopefully, they have changed their ways for the better since they last serviced our home . Several years ago.

I was very happy with Comfort Zone's work. In the past, they had also done some warranty work for me. They are always right on time and get the work done in a professional way. I use them with confidence.
