They were okay. The price was adequate; it was okay. They were fine. They cleaned it really good. I have light carpet and they covered everything up.

We had noticed some sparks and a red glow at the top of our chimney and were concerned. He came out and took a look and saw that there had been some resin build-up in part of our chimney. He was able to clean that away, along with a thorough cleaning of our flu and chimney. He recommended that we use more hardwood, instead of softer woods such as pine, so that there would be less resin building up in our chimney.

Danny is the sole owner and employee of Mary Poppins Chimney Service. We had one slight hiccup with our service, which is that he'd forgotten to write down our appointment and didn't show up when he was scheduled to come clean our chimney. I called and he was very apologetic. When he arrived he expressed very sincerely that he is normally prompt and organized, and he said he'd make it up to us. And he did! He did a wonderful job with our chimney--I don't think it's ever been as clean! Danny was also very pleasant and polite, and very tidy. Before he started working, he fully taped up the fireplace so that no soot would go into our living room. Then he went on the roof and scrubbed the inside of our chimney. He also resealed the bricks on the interior of the chimney. Once done with that, he vacuumed all the soot and dirt away. Then he pointed out that the hook that holds the pull chord for our flue was installed on the wrong side and upside down, which meant the flue was never fully open while we'd been using it! We always thought our fireplace filled the house with smoke because it's old--turns out, the flue was partially shut. Doh! So he fixed that, free of charge, and the fire we had that night was glorious! And no more smoke in the house. We will definitely hire Danny again.
