Someone shot my window with a BB gun. The damage was done on the window sash (the part of the window that goes up and down). I have a double pane window and it destroyed only one of the panes. The damaged pane was in pieces and I had to use tape to keep it from falling off. I was upset and I couldn't afford to replace an entire window. It was fortunate for me that the sash is removable with no tools needed so I looked at Angie's List for a window repair shop and that's when I found Tri City Glass and Mirror.
I called them and the owner, Vince, answered. I asked if they can do a window repair if I bring the sash to him. He said yes. Depending on the type of glass used on my window, the cheapest he will charge be will around $80. He said I will need to bring the sash to him for measurements and then he will need to order the window pane which takes 1-2 days. Then I will take the sash back and he will install the new pane which takes about 30 minutes.
I brought the sash to their storefront and I was greeted by a woman (I think her name is Linda). She was friendly and down to earth. I told her the situation and she said they can fix it. She took the measurements and said the glass I have is a "Low E-Glass." It's a better type of glass but it's more expensive. So she said the total cost will be $109. I said it was fine and paid for the repair.
Two days latter, I returned to the storefront with my sash and they installed my new window pane. I waited for 30 minutes and it was repaired. I was impressed with the workmanship. The sash looks brand new as if it never was broken in the first place. I brought it back home and re-installed the sash back in my window. My house looks good again!
I really am impressed with Tri City Glass and Mirror's honesty. They could have taken advantage of me by saying they can't repair my window sash and talk me into having one of their technicians come over to my house and replace my entire window which would have cost hundreds of dollars. I would do business with them again because they are honest people. Their business looks like a small family owned business (I think it is but I'm not sure) with an old fashioned storefront and tiny display room.

I priced a company out of Sacramento and for the exact same brand of window, Tri-City charged me $4000 less. They are a family run business. They have high integrity and they stand by their work. I am so impressed.
