From the very beginning, ADC was great to work with. I found out about them because my boyfriend is business partners with the owners. To clarify, my boyfriend is NOT in construction, just has a joint business venture with them. That did not prevent me from doing my research though to find the best deal for the service I wanted. I came to Angie's List to review several companies and also received quotes from others, but I ultimately went with ADC. Abe is the mastermind behind it all. He provided the vision for my shower and I totally bought into it during our initial consultation at my place. Since I live in a condo, he had to sketch my entire place since my HOA did not have blue prints and neither did the city, including what the current bath looked like and what it would ultimately look like. He handled submitting all the paperwork with the city and gaining the permits to make the renovation complete, which was a major relief for me (my pricing is inclusive of permits, including lead and EPA and they were quite pricey of course because the city of Oakland needs their money).Once we received permits and I gained permission with the HOA, we were ready to start! Jim was the coordinator and always kept me informed of who was coming to my place and what was to be done. I would pretty much receive emails from him several times during the week with updates. He also kept in contact with the HOA to inform them of water shut offs throughout the process. The first step of the process was the demo. Pedro and his team lead this initiative. He handled all of the plumbing to create the shower (including getting everything done to pass inspection) and once finished, built a pony wall, replastered and painted everything and I was so excited when that was finished because it looked as if the shower was always there! His team did a magnificent job cleaning up after all the demo work was completed. The next phase was Abe and his team conducting the measurements for the granite. After placing the order and receiving it, they did an absolute beautiful job polishing it and beveling the edges to give it a much more complete look once installed. Next, they took measurements for the custom glass for the shower door and the top half of the pony wall. They installed a few days after installing the granite because it took a couple of days to get the glass in. Pedro came back to add the finishing touches of the hardware and shower head while Abe installed some VERY nice granite shelves (matching the shower interior) in the corner of the pony wall to place shower items. After our last inspection, the shower was completed and I was IN LOVE! It far exceeded the vision Abe provided and I couldn't have asked for a more complete and thorough job. I would HIGHLY recommend Advance Design Construction for any type of renovation work as they are jack of all trades and truly a pleasure to work with.
