I had high hopes when I first met with Shane. The Kitchen Factory had good reviews and Columbia cabinets had good reviews, but this has been the worst experience I have ever had with a supplier and I used to be a contractor. Shane made some mistakes on my order which should have been easily rectified by the factory but that did not happen. I was told that my job was considered a job in progress and it would take 2-3 weeks for the replacements. 2 months later I got the first pieces, I didn't get the rest until 3 months after the order was placed. My job was at a standstill for 3 months as one of the pieces was an upper cabinet. It has now been a year since delivery and I am on my fifth set of replacements. Some doors were the wrong style, some had problems with the paint, almost all of them were too large so they were binding against each other. Each time I have ordered replacements they have come in with different problems. Part of the appeal of Columbia cabinets was that they are made in Canada, Shane told they had a baked on finish which was more durable than what we can get here. Not true, the paint is already chipped on multiple cabinets. On some doors that paint doesn't even fully cover the door. The only compensation I received from Shane was payment for 1 extra day of installation which didn't even begin to cover how many extra days I had to pay for, or the amount of aggravation, wasted time and money I expended. Not only did Shane make mistakes on cabinet notations he gave me the wrong door dimensions for my magic corner so I had to purchase a second one. The reason I had to order it myself was that the factory refused saying they didn't make one in the size I needed. They do make one and it is now installed in my cabinet. Shane told me everything in my kitchen was custom and I could design it however I wanted but each time I asked for something out of the ordinary he said the factory wouldn't make it that way. This has been a terrible experience not only because of the mistakes but I now have to deal directly with Tom from Columbia because Shane refuses to return my calls or emails. I ended up firing the installer Shane uses because he started complaining that he had never had a job that took as long as mine to finish and he made it very clear he no longer wanted to be here. It took me another 6 months to find someone who was willing to try to fix someone else's mistakes. These cabinets were by far the most expensive of all my choices but I thought they would be worth the money in terms of quality and reputation, I could not have been more wrong. Shane is sweet and charming but that in no way makes up for what I have been through. Stay as far away from this company as you can.

They worked very well with my architect, who recommended them. Two things stand out: (1) the cabinetry look was very high end, European style with self closing drawers, etc. that would have cost me more than double if I had gone to one of the fancy kitchen shops, and (2) the attention to detail in the planning stage was excellent, so that the entire kitchen look and function was well thought out.

The cabinets were very high quality, and were professionally installed with great care. The only problem we had was the timing. Because our move date depended on finishing our kitchen, I specifically asked what the time frame would be, and they assured me the cabinets would arrive in the 4-6 week window they quoted. Unfortunately due to some "computer error" that they would not take responsibility for, the cabinets took a great deal longer, and it forced us to postpone our move in date.

This is an outstanding company! I cannot say enough. We had put off this job due to apprehension since we knew a kitchen remodel can be daunting. Not so, with this company. They are amazing. Shane, the owner, could not be more attentive to detail and the exact image I wanted for the kitchen. In the end, the kitchen far exceeded what we had anticipated. His entire crew were amazing and so nice to deal with from start to finish.

They did not disappoint. We were working with Elaine Morrison. She was very good and very attentive. They do not have their own contractor. They recommend different contractors and we choose. Unfortunately, you have good experiences with contractors and then they fall off the cliff. At the time they recommended the contractor he was doing good work but he bit off more than he could chew. The cabinets were very top notch. Elaine designed our kitchen. She had some good ideas, as where we should put things. We removed a wall separating our kitchen and dining areas. We pushed back the bathroom that off the kitchen to make room for the microwave. She did an excellent job designing the kitchen and utilizing every nook and cranny.

They were excellent. They are smart, they know how to design the cabinets and the attention to detail was terrific, nothing was overlooked. They also recommended the installer for us to use for the installation. I felt that I got a kitchen that looks more expensive that what I paid for. They did a very high quality job for a price that was reasonable.

I had a very positive experience with the Kitchen Factory. They are a smaller store and sell semi-custom cabinets. It is nothing like going to a Home Depot or Lowes for your kitchen cabinets. Your start with having to pay $1,000 deposit before they will do any design work for you. But that is because they actually spend a lot of time with you designing your kitchen. The backbone of the kitchen is the cabinets, so this is a very important step. Our designer started by coming to our house and seeing what we had to work with. He took measurements and asked how we like to use the kitchen. Then he spent about 10 days designing the kitchen. When we went to the showroom, he had plans all drawn up that were professional and easy to understand. We went back and forth a couple of times until we came up with a design we loved. We ordered the cabinets with the upgrades we wanted. We were never pressured to order any upgrades at all. In fact, he tried to save us money by giving us several finish options. The cabinets took 13 weeks to come in, which is a very long time, but they are worth it. I've had the kitchen two and a half years now, and they still look as amazing as the first day they were installed. The design also works beautifully. They do not install the cabinets, you have to find your own contractor. The cabinets are not cheap, they are higher end, but the quality of the cabinets and the time spent with you makes the price well worth it.
