The A/C in my car only worked if it wasn't hot outside. I knew it needed to be "charged" but didn't know if it had a leak, something was broken, or worse. They tested the pressure which was below spec and charged it up to the correct amount. After testing the A/C and finding that it still wasn't cooling, they asked permission to evacuate the system. With my OK they evacuated the system and recharged it to spec. with coolant and dye. This corrected the problem. The car was returned to me with their instruction to run the A/C continuously for several days to allow the dye to work through the system and reveal any leaks that may be present. The A/C has been working fine. A few days after the repair I used the car to take a long road trip to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and back. The A/C continued to work great throughout the trip and is still working wonderfully.

It was around 4pm on my way home from working in the heat and my a/c started to have issues. It would work for i while then blow hot air for a while. As it was to late to go to the shop i use regularly for the last 10 years or so. I stop at North Stockton Auto as it is just around the corner from my house.I spoke with a mechanic there about the a/c problem. He took the time to look at it and ask me some questions.After that he explained what was wrong and that i could fix it myself by removing the compressor pulley and take a shim out and that should do it. I went home did what he said to do and it worked just fine.Some shops would have made me pay for diagnostic and maybe would have charged for a/c refrigerant charging and repair at a cost of at least 150.00 to 200.00 dollars minimum. But not at North Stockton Auto ,VERY HONEST AUTO SHOP .
