Auto Transmission Service
Their estimate was excessively high considering they were using off label non dealer parts and estimating by the hour book only not by experience. The estimate was 1238.00, I went through another automotive center using dealer parts and labor I saved over 400.00 total. I have no vibration that can result in using off label manufactured parts.

The rear window on the driver side of my Jeep Liberty began to slip and no longer responded to the power motor though I could it the motor working. Per my research this is a common problem with the Jeep Liberty model. Typically the problem is a broken window mount but it can be the more expensive window regulator. The repair job should take less than 30 minutes to complete regardless of the problem and as long as the parts are on hand. I obtained estimates for the more expensive job of replacing the regulator-- the local Jeep dealer quoted $350, an out of town Midas shop I use for most of my automotive needs and trust quoted me $200. Rather than go out of town I decided to check Angie's list for a local recommendation. Perhaps I would find a repair shop closer to home. Bruce and Jack's automotive received an and quot;Aand quot; rating on Angie's list. I called and was told it would be $93 to remove the door to access the problem part(s).--this was $50 less than the dealer's quote so I decided to arrange to have the service rendered at Bruce and Jack's.
The day of the repair, I was cheerfully greeted by the staff and Peter went right to work on my car. The problem was a broken window regulator--$362 to fix using a rebuilt regulator. The price would jump another $100 to install a new Jeep regulator making the cost of the repair over $460. Both prices were above those of the Jeep Dealer's price. By now the door was disassembled and it would cost me close to $140 to have them put it back together so I could get to my trusted Midas dealer. Such a move would end up being $340 ($140 for Bruce and Jack, $200 for Midas) plus the cost of gasoline to get to the job done in Manteca. I decided just to eat the extra expense and get the job done a.s.a.p.
The 10% discount for AAA members is on labor only so the final discounted price was $349--$1 less than that of the dealer's non-discounted price which would have included a brand new Jeep regulator. There was no benefit for my using Bruce and Jack's Automotive for this service. And now I have to trust the rebuilt regulator can last me the 10 years my original regulator gave me. The only and quot;Aand quot; rating deserved by Bruce and Jack's Automotive is for their friendly customer service. All the rest is no better than what I would have received from the Jeep dealership so and quot;Cand quot;--just average. I will continue to travel to my trusted Midas shop in Manteca.

Very impressed driving into the garage. Very Clean shop. They are friendly, knowledgeable, honest. Family owned which I liked. Covered the steering wheel, floor mats and drivers seat with plastic to prevent them from getting dirty. I was told it would take about 2 hours, gave me a ride home and picked me up. That was great. My Car was clean, no noise and price was better than I expected.

They give me a discount if I show that I am a triple A member. They are pretty good and they are nice, clean, and quick. I spent a little over $200 the last time I used them. I would tell others that apart from them being nice and clean, they are reliable and good people. Their responsiveness and punctuality is very good.
