Found on Angie's list, Tony DuBois of Cementrix, Inc. exceed all of my expectations from his speedy reply to my inquiry about the prospective job to clean-up at the end of the project. He accurately bid the job, sourced the appropriate materials for the work, and completed the job on-time and to-budget. The unexpected bonus was delivery of a keen aesthetic sense for the tile setting. Tony and his team worked most of a day to set the AZ flagstone finish design to look as though work had never been done in the hardscape. Truly outstanding experience.

Tony and his employees were very professional.  Tony came to our house to evaluate our project, give us some suggestions, and take measurements.  He kept in touch with us on the design, price and dates of service.

Everyone was on time, prepared to do their work, and very clean.  The project went fast because of the preparation Tony did.

He told us the time line and he kept that time line.

The finished fire pit exceeded our expectations.  It is easy to turn on and off, looks great and a great additions to our patio!

We will use Tony for other house projects that come up.

I am writing this review a year after the work was done but it allows me to point out that the city patched some potholes in the alley nearby about the same time as this work was done and THAT concrete already has cracks. There are NO CRACKS in what Cementrix poured. Great job, guys!
This was a small but complex job: 1)One sub-contractor (Middle Way)provided the saw cut needed to remove the wall cleanly; 2)Another sub-contractor (Silverback Hauling) did the demo and haul-away; and 3)The new concrete by Cementrix was on a slope. Thanks for making it easy on me.

OUTSTANDING WORK! Cementrix exceeded our expectations. Tony arrived as scheduled for the estimate. He was very knowledgeable and spent time with us discussing details of the job. The crew members were friendly, prompt and obvious craftsmen at their trade. We observed all phases of the work from demoltition to digging, concrete removal, setting proper grade with lasers, setting concrete forms, laying sand, tamping, soil compacting, installing water barrier, laying rebar, and drain prep. We had a moisture issue after the old slab was removed, due to the geography of our area. Tony had foreseen this and listed a remedy as an option on the bid. Used #3 rebar at 18and quot; on center, with 4and quot; concrete at 3,000psi. He also met with the company who would install the new patio cover, to ensure the concrete was at the proper grade to accommodate the patio height requirements. The day of the concrete pour ran like a fine tuned machine. All adjacent areas were protected with plastic. The man who pumped the concrete to the back yard from the concrete mixer truck was neat and efficient with his equipment - no stray concrete anywhere. The concrete finishers were very experienced. Tony personally oversaw the concrete slope and joints to ensure proper drainage. Several contractors, who did other work after the concrete phase of our overall project, complimented the outstanding concrete work. They even had a porta potty delivered to not interrupt the homeowners. Since the new slab was slightly larger than the old one, they even relocated our irrigation sprinklers. We had an old problem of rain water puddling near the garage/driveway. Cementrix installed 2 drains during the project. When it poured rain a few weeks later, the drains worked perfectly, with no puddling or rain flowing onto the patio slab. We highly recommend the Cementrix team.

Their price was a little bit higher than the two other bids that I had, but they were comparable and came highly recommended by people who had used them. We also had a few add ons. The work included removal of old driveway and walkway, installation of new drive and walk with brick banding, replacement of irrigation and regrading of ground adjacent to the driveway. We have received many complements on the project from neighbors and friends. I have had some bad contractors, but this guy was good. I was really pleased.
