Great, very happy with the work and the Windows.

It was great- the installer was prompt, friendly, and very professional. I am thrilled with the look and feel of both doors. The estimate was lower than the others we received.

I decided that replacing my windows was my first priority in
my new house. After getting a couple quotes from other highly-rated companies
in San Diego, I ultimately decided to complete the job with Action Window &
Door. I first found them on the SDG&E Energy Upgrade website as a certified
window replacement vendor and I appreciated the initial presentation by the
sales representative Nathan. I had a thousand questions, and he was very
helpful. I also was able to reach him on multiple occasions both via email and
phone after my initial consultation. I ended up choosing Action because they
had the best price for the best product (and warranty). My final order
consisted of 9 windows of varying shapes/sizes, 1 sliding door and 1 set of
French doors. A second employee came out for a final measurement, who was also
very helpful and professional. I was somewhat disappointed with the office once
my order was placed. I had to call several times to get updates on the status
of my installation since it was taking longer than initially expected. I spoke
with Melissa, the manager, who gave me an anticipated timeline for shipment and
painting of the French doors and stated that she would call me to schedule my
installation a week after the doors were painted. I waited a week and a half
and still had not received a call so I had to make an effort to finally get the
installation scheduled. It took 7-8 weeks from signing the contract to
installation. I think in the future, a courtesy call for customers waiting on
installation would make the customer service great as this waiting and calling
the office myself was frustrating.
Anyway, the installation went great. They sent 3 technicians
who projected it would take a day and a half to finish the job, but they worked
hard to complete the job within the first day. The quality of the work was
top-notch. The job required resizing the opening for the French doors, and
lifting the slider to the second floor?both time consuming and requiring skill.
The only suggestion for improvement was completing a final sweep to ensure good
cleanup. All the framing shards were still in the downstairs bathroom, and I am
still finding a couple pieces around the house. I figured the long day
compromised the cleanup a little.
I am very very happy with the final product?both the
Simonton windows and Therma Tru patio doors. My home is comfier, quieter and
the windows offer a clean look both on the inside and outside. (I am definitely
glad I upgraded to the Craftsman exterior frame on the windows. It looks great!)
I am also glad I went with the sound package in the bedroom windows since any
noise I can cut down is worth it. Overall, I am glad I went with Action Window
& Door and I am glad that my first house project went relatively smoothly.
I would recommend this company to anyone looking to upgrade those old aluminum
windows and adding some beauty to your home!

My experience with them went fine. They did a good job. They're pretty fast. They do quality work and the price was good.

It is always wonderful to find a contractor who will bend over backward to get you exactly what you ask for. That has been my experience with Action Window and Door. I needed to replace my pantry door because my children would ding the refrigerator door against the pantry door knob. I’ve always wanted a chalkboard pantry door, but I didn’t want the knob to stick out as it did before. I explained this to David of Action Window and Door and they solved the problem with a custom-made door using a magnetic mechanism instead of a twist-and-turn door knob. Wow!
Also, as we have two schnoodles I wanted a screen door that would incorporate a pet door within it—of course something you couldn’t buy at Home Depot or Lowes, right? I tried to purchase the insert for the sliding door but the size recommended for my 8’ door didn’t seem to fit properly, plus it looked awkward so I returned it to the store. Again, Action Window and Door finds a way to make it work! Alex, the Lead Installer, installs a pet guard to “pet-proof” my screen and devices a way to incorporate the pet door. Now, we’re ready to welcome the cool summer breeze sans bugs, and the dogs can still come in and out of the house.
Finally, I wanted to install a security screen door for the garage door so I can leave the door open while working out in the garage. As the jamb (the frame around the door) was falling apart from weather damage, Alex installed a new jamb and then installed my new security screen door.
I definitely highly recommend Action Window and Door. I will certainly use them again when I need work done. I thought the price they charged me for all the work was very reasonable and within budget since it was pretty much custom-made to my needs; plus, everything was done in a timely manner.
