"Dear [removed member name]: I am baffled with your review almost 2 years after we completed our Safety Evaluation of your fireplace back in April of 2012. After pulling your file, below is a review of our Promotion and recap of your appointment. Our promotion was for a Cleaning and Safety Evaluation. (copy and paste link to review) http://my.angieslist.com/thebigdeal/default.aspx?storefrontitemid=62220&source=17&forceSync=1 When Joe arrived, he informed you he would not be able to perform the service from the top because of your tile roof. Tile roofs are not safe to be on due to their slippery surface and the high risk of tiles breaking/cracking, which can result in injuries. He was however, able to complete the Safety Evaluation from the bottom. Joe informed you when he performed his visual evaluation of your zero clearance (ZC) fireplace that your chimney could not be cleaned due to the separation of your flue joints (they were not connected). Joe then explained to you that your options were as follows: a) Open your walls so your flue could be installed to manufacturer’s specifications b) Install a ZC approved gas burning insert OR c) Remove your ZC fireplace and flue and do a completely new fireplace Joe told you that if you wanted us to propose a, b or c above that he would apply your $99.00 coupon to either of those projects. At the time, you were not interested in any of the above options. Joe left brochures with you to review in case you changed your mind. We never heard back from you until now (almost 2 years after the evaluation). I’m sorry you were not happy to learn that your fireplace was not safe to use."
