By telephone the company originally estimated part and labor costs that were lower than the final job. When I inquired over a month later about the job, they wanted to be more certain by making an initial $65 house call (three other comparables were $45), in all cases said to be waived if service is provided. Chose company because it was the only net-reviewed (local) company that received no strongly negative reviews (except for cost). Plus I had favorable prior experience with this company a few times before for refrigerator (and clothes washer) repair. In this case there was a change of personnel: a different repairman. After the initial visit and diagnosis, the quote for the service was $265, about $75 higher than comparable telephone quotes from other repair companies. Company then tried to "get the best price" for the part, and called back to quote $88 (plus tax) for the part and $120 for labor. The labor charge was higher than quoted by alternative companies and now made the job cost significantly higher than alternative companies. But switching companies would cost us this company's $65 house call. Had the service done, but am inclined to shop around next time.

The technician showed up on time, and found the problem very quickly (a toothpick stuck in the drain line had captured a bunch of other gunk so the DW wouldn't drain). He was there all of 20 minutes and there were no new parts needed. The DW works great now. The technician made some recommendations for cleaning and maintaining the DW which I thought was very nice. While the service was very good, I thought $300 was a lot to pay for 20 minutes and no new parts. That was the estimate though and I guess that is their minimum charge to make a house call.

I WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. I'M PLANNING ON DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. HE JUST MADE IT VERY EASY. HE WAS ABLE TO DO ALL THE PHYSICAL LABOR. HE GOT ME EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO REPLACE IT WITH AND GOT ME A REALLY GOOD PRICE. THE ONLY ONE I HAD CONTACT WITH WAS THE SERVICEMAN WHO CAME TO MY HOUSE. HIS NAME WAS SCOTT, AND I THOUGHT HE WAS VERY GOOD.

PROMPT, FRIENDLY, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I HAVE USED CHUCKS FOR YEARS, AND HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE. THIS TIME WAS NO DIFFERENT. VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE.
