There was a new inspector this year, and I appreciated his telling me I had old rats nests in my attic.  He offered me a deal where my entire 1900 sqare-foot attic would be cleaned and all insulation replaced for $3900.    This price would also include repairing a broken duct and sealing off all (rat) entrances as well as sealing off an entrance to the basement.  I was given an estimate to sign, not a contract.  Now I know the difference!
I was not told that it would be fiberglass insulation.  My lungs are not good and as soon as I saw the insulation arrive I asked for an alternative.   I was told that that was all they carried, so when I refused the insulation Rick, the owner, complained that he had no storage space for it.  And this is a company that routinely provides the same insulation to everyone?  I found out later that pest control companies often will hire attic cleaning and insulation companies to do their work and then mark up the price a lot.
I repeatedly asked the workers to fix the duct, which should have happened first to prevent the attic dust from getting into the house while the attic was being cleaned.  Eventually Rick told me to hire someone else to do it.
The workers were unaware they were supposed to seal the entrances. This was eventually done.
The workers could not clean 400 square feet because they felt there was not enough room.  Rick did come himself to investigate and then agreed with them.
At the end, I was not given a bill.  A secretary called and asked for my credit card # without even telling me the charges without my asking.
For $3900, supposedly, I should have had 1900 square feet cleaned and with new insulation, as well as the entrances closed and the duct fixed (which I paid someone else $100 for).  Instead I paid $2900 for only the cleaning of 1500 square feet and a couple entrances closed with steel netting. The entrance to the basement was closed to pacify me after I complained, though that was originally promised me.
Afterwards I had an attic cleaning company complete the other 400 square feet (it wasn't difficult for them!) and add cellulose insulation for a total of $700.

I have used them for many years.  They changed service people, the new  person made an appointment and did not show up, nor did he call.  I called the office the next day, they said he got lost.  I told them I was going to get  outside bids and would let them know of my decision. I did get some bids but vendors did not seem anxious to get the job since it was quarterly spraying.
I called GW back, told them if their service person was prompt and knew what he was doing they could continue the service.  He arrived promptly (actually minutes early).  I accompanied him around the yeard, and observed him doing his work.  The rating is higher than I would give normally due to lateness and not calling.  Based on years of good service and timeleness I would rate them higher the next review.

My family used their services for about ten years and I have been using them for about fifteen. They have been fast, efficient, and thorough with their analysis. They mail out a postcard each year when the service is due. I have never had any troubles. Everything has been good about them.

I like that the same guy comes out every year.  He is familiar with our home and areas that he needs to look to make sure everything is inspected properly.  We haven't had any termites.  They are quick if you need additional help as well such as our bee issue.

They’re very good and I’ve been using them forever, or at least from 1999.  They came with the house.  I checked around a around a couple of years ago but I ended up sticking with them despite a low score on Angie’s List. They were reasonable and I’m termite free.

I've used Great Western for the last 11 years, since I bought my home. I never checked with any other companies, and recently felt I should - just to make sure. I called 3 other companies. One wasn't interested. Another came out, did a cursory inspection, gave a very high price and was rude. The 3rd did an outstanding job: complete inspection, thorough explanation, and a complete inspection report - all for free. In the end, I decided to stay with GW because I've had no complaints over the years. When there was an infestation, they took care of it. The other 2 companies confirmed GW had done a good job. Their prices are reasonable and I've only had good interactions with them. I was disturbed by some of the negative reports about GW on Angie's List, but based on my experience and the research I've done, I can only give them and A+.

At first, all was fine. Two months later, after some rain, winged termites swarmed out of spots in fence. Got zero response asking for explanation or re-treatment. This was after 3 phone calls and an e-mail to the president of company.

The inspection was done in a timely manner. In addition to the dry rot problem, they recommended tunneling and treating for subterranean termites which really inflated the bill. Another company came out and said subterranean damage looked old, so treating would not really serve any purpose a this time. We decided to go with the second opinion.

They came to do an inspection, but did not distinguish between old damage and active infestation. They recommended tenting. I employed another company that distinguished active infestation and old damage.

The inspector arrived promptly and did a good job of inspecting. Unfortunately, he was wrong when he said we could leave the air conditioner on during the tenting, which resulted in the loss of 4 cases of wine due to the high temperatures that weekend. The company failed to give us the notice required by law. When the house was tented, the company tented OVER hedges and bushes that were in some cases over 16 inches from the house. This resulted in them killing over 80 mature hedges/plants. The company has refused to pay for the damage. We know it was not necessary to tent over all the plants because they did NOT tent over similarly-spaced plants around the garage. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have been satisfied with the service I've received over the years from this company. The inspectors seem very competent and are helpful in terms of reviewing what they may have found with me. Most times the inspector is able to do minor treatment at the same time as the annual inspection. If the treatment is more extensive a worker is sent to do the work generally within a week.

IF THERE ARE ANY TERMITES FOUND, THE COMPANY WILL TREAT IT FOR NOTHING DUE TO THEM GETTING RID OF THE TERMITES A FEW YEARS BEFORE. THE CONTRACT IS TRANSFERABLE, AND THE NEXT OWNER WILL BE COVERED AS WELL. THEY ARE ABOVE EXCELLENT ON THEIR PROFESSIONALISM. THERE IS NO PRESSURE, AND THEY ARE EASYGOING.
