Michael Crum Concrete was recommended to me by a co-worker who indicated he provided excellent work at a fair and competitive price. I Contacted Mike and he came out to my property to see the job site and discuss what I wanted (a large circular pad to accommodate a heavy water storage tank.. He provided his thoughts on the project and then an estimate to get the job done. Based upon my friends review and what I saw in other reviews, I accepted Mike's estimate and hired him to do the job. He gave me a date and time that the 2-day job would begin. He arrived on-time as did his workers. Mike did some necessary tractor work clearing and leveling the area, his crew set about making forms and creating rebar framework. The following day Mike and his team arrived promptly and began the pour and then finishing work. I couldn't be happier with the results and the experience of working with Mike and his crew was enjoyable. Very nice, honest and hard working people. The job site was thoroughly cleaned up before his departure. I highly recommend Michael Crum Concrete.

They were terrific and very professional

Theirs was the middle bid, but a higher rating. The fellow came out right away and clearly knew his business as opposed to one of the other people. Made a thorough inspection of the property to be demolished and redone, and called the next day with a reasonable bid. They set a timetable for the project, and stuck to it, the men were careful to clean up every day, and everyone was friendly and professional. The final product was perfect. Makes life easier and safer. I would absolutely use them again. They do great work.

We had used Michael Crum Concrete in 2006 for a major driveway/landscaping job. They re-poured our front porch, pathways, and driveway with stamped/colored concrete. The entire job went without a hitch and the result was beautiful. So when it was time to re-work a complicated elevation problem in our backyard pathways, we called him again. This time we used exposed aggregate with many different steps and had to tie it in to older concrete work. We were extremely please with Mike's ability to visualize the project and we love the result. There was a little glitch in some finish work and they came out and took care of it right away without any problems.
We will use them again if ever we need concrete work and wholeheartedly recommend them

Mike is well experienced (with over thirty years of experience in concrete). He is down to earth and easy to relate to. Mike is on the job to make sure that everything goes the way he wants it. His crew works well together..lots of kidding around while they work. They know what they are doing. Mike also has design sense and showed me a different stamp and color combination for the concrete patio that turned out more artistically pleasing than what I had originally selected. He also talked my husband out of a drain system that would have cost $300 more that he said was not necessary. Great integrity and a great experience.

Everything went extremely well. On time for estimate appointment and work/ start times were exactly as promised. Final price was exactly the same as estimate price. I was very impressed that the owner of the company who made the estimate was on site the entire time and did a considerable amount of the work along with his crew of six. Owner seemed VERY experienced. At the time of the estimate, after taking measurements and asking what I wanted, he provided the estimate on that first contact. Owner/contractor had good suggestions but did not try to push for more work or upgrades than I didn't need. Entire crew seemed skilled. Very, very good clean up of my area and the public street in front of the driveway. Can't speak highly enough of their work.

He was prompt, his bid was fair and written up nicely. It wasn't the absolute lowest and I was very comfortable that he heard what we needed to do. The contractor had made a mistake and forgot to include something in the bid so he came back and redid it. He was really great and I was very happy with him. I liked that he was licensed and bonded with the city of Santa Cruz. My husband is a stickler for wanting things done a certain way and it seemed like he was very thorough.

This site had many long standing water issues were resolved with this project. Mike listened to what I saw as the major drainage issues and what needed to be corrected. After some discussion about potential resolutions, we agreed on what was to be done. His proposal was clearly written, the date of construction was agreed upon, and the project was completed on that day. Mike worked along side his men, resolving issues as they occurred, and was very detailed oriented (removing some old concrete "slug" from a former brick wall removal). The site was left clean with no sign of construction remaining.
