Auto Service
We were about to leave the house for an appointment in Modesto. ( we live way out in the country between Modesto and Sonora ) The left front tire looked low, so my husband was going to use his air pressure gauge to check the pressure in the tire. When he turned the valve stem cap to remove it, the whole valve stem broke off in his hand, and all the air in the tire rushed out of the hole leaving the tire completely flat! We called Vic's Towing and explained that we are on a fixed income, and that my husband was recovering from surgery so he could not remove the tire and replace it with the spare tire. The shop manager with Vic's told me not to worry and that they would take care of us.
They sent a flatbed tow truck to our house, picked up our truck and transported it to their shop in Sonora, CA. They replaced all five of our valve stems which even included the stem on the spare tire! They explained that if one stem was bad, that the other stems could fail at any time. Then they sent out one of their drivers in our truck to deliver it to us, and a second driver in one of their trucks to bring back their driver that had delivered our truck to us at home, so we would not have to drive them back to their shop in Sonora. They only charged us a small amount for the new valve stems. They did not charge us anything for their labor or for the towing of our truck and their delivery of our repaired truck back to our home. The manager at Vic's asked us only to remember them whenever we needed any repair work done in the future.
I can not remember the last time that I have received this kind of service from any repair shop! We will definitely tell all of our friends and family about the level of service and courtesy we experienced at Vic's, and we will use their shop for any service or repairs that we need in the future.
