RUDY'S ELECTRIC

Rudy responded promptly to my phone call and setting up a service call was easy.  He fit me in quicky when he heard about the electrical mess I had in my kitchen!  He arrived on time and explained everything as he went along.  I highly recommend him! 

We had to reschedule a few times, but he was extremely responsive by phone and text. He brought all the materials he needed and did a fine job moving the ceiling fan to another spot in a very high ceiling and correcting some screwy wiring that was in place. His ladder took a few paint chips off the walls, but all the electric work was great, and it was difficult work to do. Reasonable price for an awful lot of effort.

He is great! He really knows what he is doing. His prices are reasonable and I would not trust anyone else with my electrical needs.

Rudy has years of experience working for a large company and is very knowledgeable as an electrician. He executed the work well and was able to complete the job as we had discussed. A big part of working with an independent contractor requires some specific skills that Rudy lacks. These shortfalls ended up turning a great experience into a big disappointment. I have no complaints about the quality of work, however, the other half of working with an electrician involves clear communication; namely, cost estimation and a clear understanding of the work that will be done within a given time frame. Rudy ended up under-quoting the job. I had made a final payment, however, some work was unfinished. His tone changed completely and it took three weeks to get Rudy back in to finish up. As a homeowner, my expectation was that he charge me for his time and finish the job... I was willing to pay him what is fair. He ended up hanging up on me and insisting that I hire another electrician to finish his work. If you hire Rudy, I would recommend that you have written estimate with a detailed list of the work to be completed along with a specific time line. I may have high expectations, however, this is an honest review and hope this can help those looking for a qualified electrician.

Half of the outlets in the master bedroom that shared a wall with the front porch were out. Also, half of the living room outlets were not working. One night the lights came back on, but then they all went out. Rudy was recommended by another expert in the field. He came out and did some troubleshooting. He discovered that one of the outlets had been wired backwards, so he corrected that and replaced it with an outlet that was up to code. In the living room, the source of the problem was an illegal outlet (an outlet that was not up to code) that had fried. He replaced that, too. He also was able to rewire the outlet in the bedroom to ensure that one of the plugs was hot all the time and that the other plug in the outlet could be controlled by the switch. In the dining room, when he discovered that the reason why the dining light would not come on was due to a need for a new dimmer, he went out to purchase one, came back promptly and replaced it to working satisfaction. He was very friendly and knowledgable. He explained the cause and resolution for each problem. We felt confident with his ability to do the job because of his experience working for SDGand E for over 20 years.
