I visited numerous flooring stores and performed research on-line re: the option of purchasing the materials and hiring my own contractor to perform the demo and installation. I found that MJ Flooring had an excellent selection of materials and competitive pricing, and I therefore decided to go with them. I was able to schedule the work very quickly. There were separate installers for the tile and the wood; I found both sets of installers to be competent and pleasant to work with. The entire process (from demo to completion) took approximately 2 weeks. I have since hired MJ Flooring to replace the ceramic tile in my master bathroom, and had another good experience with them.

Overall experience was OK. The store did an excellent sales job and then sort of forgot us afterward. They had the best price after five quotes. There were numerous times of confusion, and there was no single contact person following our progress. We eventually started asking for just one person to minimize our own confusion. The job completed about two weeks after originally promised, although the hardwood floors were done before we moved in, which was most important to us. There was confusion over the billing process. The contractor thought we were paying him directly, while the store said we would be dealing only with them. We sorted out the billing issue, but we ended up going right to the contractor to answer any questions about the job. The store was unresponsive to questions such as date, time and confirmation of installation. The work turned out beautifully, so we are happy despite the headaches. The contractors saved the day and did excellent work!
