D and B Automotive has been our family mechanic for decades. I live far away now, but I know I can always count on Dennis (and quot;Dand quot; of D and B, or Dennis and Barbara) for a second opinion and honest service, if I'm able to make the drive. On this occasion, I was skeptical of another mechanic's recommendation that I change the drive belt. I made an appointment with Dennis for an oil change and let him know about the other mechanic's recommendation. I like that he didn't automatically assume that it needed to be changed. Rather, he wrote and quot;Drive belt?and quot; on the service order so the mechanic would check it and change it if necessary. In the end, they changed it and informed me that my car actually has two drive belts, both of which needed to be changed. He alerted me to other repairs I may need in the near future. When asked, he told me what to watch for in case I need repairs sooner. You can find a cheaper oil change elsewhere. However, it's worth it to me to pay a little more for the oil change because, when it comes to other services, I'm confident of the great service and fair price I'll get from D and B. I find Dennis and his mechanics to be fair, honest, and never patronizing. I really appreciate that Dennis will tell me if I don't need something or if I can wait to make repairs. I never feel that I'm being treated differently because I'm a woman. D and B is conveniently located directly across the street from the train station in Solana Beach.

They are lovely. It is a small family company. Dennis, the guy who owns it has an incredible knowledge of cars. He told telling me what they Ford production line used to do when it was built and whether it was a good engine. The person who recommended him to me said that he specializes in keeping old cars running. He seems honest and I never had to take my car back for anything that he has worked on.

I've gone to them for years. They are 100% honest. They are very knowledgeable.

This company is really great for all types of work and also great for diagnosing different problems. I've been using them for eight years. They also have a great turnaround. It's same-day service.
