San Ventura Roofing did a great job. They promptly provided a proposal. Their team was professional and went above and beyond to address any concerns I had. They cleaned up each day after work. The cost was competitive and there were no surprises.

Since the roofs have been on, it has been a disaster, it looks as though they took leftover tiles from other jobs, sent out a couple of guys and left. The roof has tiles that are very thick and thin, all around the house I have tiles that have slid off, pieces that have cracked off, tiles that are nailed improperly and are therefore lifted up. Used some sort of white cement at roof eaves that looks like grout-on dark slate. They installed numerous tiles upside down. Headlap is inadequate or not at all in numerous areas.
The pieces by flashing were not even secured & fall off. There are exposed nail holes, gaps, lifting. In areas where they were to replace broken slates, they just took the old off and never put on a replacement.
I depended on my contractor to make sure that the product & installation was the best quality, that is what I paid for. San Ventura did not provide any details as to country, quarry, ASTM testing, size length type of nails etc.
My roofs are getting worse, the colors of tiles are all over the place, corners are breaking off & they installed some with corners very thin.
When I pointed out the tiles changing colors from midnite black to brown, they said it is a natural stone and willl change. I have since found out, that the Standards for testing identify those issues. They said could not do anything about white grout, that's just what it is. When asked to repair tiles that had slid whole into gutter, claimed it ws golf balls (I live on golf course)-there is no way golf balls would do all this.
The slate came from a company that has a 75 year warranty, when I inquired from San Ventura to get a copy, they said it was my responsibility to complete it and send it to the company. I never saw a warranty, nor, could I attest that what they put on my house was actually their product. So, I have no manufacture warranty.
I asked for the details and receipts for my roof and San Ventura would not provide.
I have since realized, that instead of purchasing high quality slate from an established quarry, like Vermont, they purchased mine from China, with no quality control. When slates needed to be replaced, knowing the pallet, source & quarry alllows you to get replacement tiles. They replaced a few of mine with a whole other slate, different color, texture, thickness- they were made aware and saw blaring iinstallation issues & never said a word. When I pointed out some things I noticed , I was always given some excuse and nothing was ever their fault.
Needless to say, I now have to pursue further actions before rainy season.

I would not hire them again. I wanted a white tile and they went ahead and did the roof except for the tile. They put the black plastic waterproofing on. I asked where the white tile was since the tile was blue. They informed me the company did not make white anymore. They did not provide the tile I wanted and failed to inform me. I called the manufacturer and they informed me they did make the white tile.

When I called them, they immediately made an appointment. They are always on time. They are great. We had got a couple of other bids for the roof 10 years ago. They were not the most reasonable, but they were the most professional. Their price was pretty okay.

They were prompt and efficient. I think the quality of the work is good. It hasn't rained so I'm not sure. To me it looks like they did a terrific job.

The work done by Sam Ventura was excellent. They arrived on time, quickly removed the old problem area of the roof and got rid of all the mess and debris efficiently. They installed quality roofing and tile which matched the rest of the roof well. They were considerate and worked quickly. We have not had any problem with the roof or the smoke detectors since they were installed. I would recommend this contractor to anyone.
