A disaster from day one! My computer contracted a virus and I restored my machine in an attempt to rid the virus. I found Dr. PC in the yellow pages @10:30 pm the night before thanksgiving. I explained to him that I "panicked" when getting the virus ,restored my desktop and thus lost all my saved "Favorites" . He promised to come over @ 9 am the day after Thanksgiving and he did. He said he would take my computer to his lab ,get rid of the virus and retore my favorites. He said it was good that I did not have any other files etc. as they would be lost. He returned with my computer a few days later but it was obvious that the virus was still present. He said he would take it back to his lab to remove the virus from the hard drive. (this ,I am told by others should have been done by him the first time). He retuned a few days later and could not figure why my computer was not linking with my monitor. He did not understand the message that was appearing and attempted to get the answer thru an APP. on his cellphone. He then asked my permissin to hook my computer up to my sons computer monitor in the next room. After a few minutes he came out of my sons room and told me "there are too many cables" and he did not want to try to hook it up there. He then checked the back of my monitor and noted a loose connection. (OBVIOUSLY HE HAD LOOSENED THE CONNECTION WHEN HE "PULLED"MY COMPUTER) He had also disconnected the Linksys router and now my machine was not working when hooked to the router but did work fine hooked directly to the modem. He told me it was probably a modem problem and I should call the cable company. I paid him $200 for removing the virus and installing a new antivirus protection and restoring my "Favorites". He said to call him after I speak to the cable company and he would resolve the Router?Modem problem. The cable company confirmed there was nothing wrong with their modem but the Routr which he had disconnected needed basically to be reset and rebooted. Before calling him I checked my sons computer and noted DR.PC had in fact pulled the plug as it was lying unplgged next to the CPU. I called Dr. PC and asked him which plug did he remove when he shut off my sons computer. He told me and I attempted to start up the computer it would not power on. He returned with his technical asst. 3 days later to take out my sons computer to his lab. Whatever he did he had fried the motherboard and the power supply when he shut it down to hook up my machine to my sons monitor. He blamed the dust in the machine, the fact he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, etc etc I GUESS HE FORGOT THAT IF HE HAD NOT LOOSENED MY MONITORS CABLE HE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO TOUCH MY SON COMPUTER! in any event 2 weeks and 2 motherboards later he shows up WITH A GOON to hook up my sons computer, he verbally assaults me when I tell him he has the liability for frying the machine, he threatens to remove the parts I put in if I do not pay him in full($432) and he threatens to call the sheriff. All this while his Goon is standing in my house siding with him. I give him 70% of his bill as the agreed upon payment in full which he signs and I am thankful to be rid of he and his goon!
