DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CALL ANOTHER PLUMBER.  Unless you like paying a premium for the work, taking forever to get the job done,  and receiving substandard customer service.  I have been dealing with Gorsuch for the past four months and it has been the worst experience I have ever had with any contractor.  I am the president of a homeowner's association and Gorsuch was recommended to us by the HOA management company as a plumbing company of size and reputation to get a larger project done.  I don't know how they have built this so-called "great reputation".  When they came out to bid a gas re-piping and new gas meter job for a 21 unit building in Long Beach, it was a disaster from the start.  After agreeing to pay upwards of $35,000 for this project and signing a contract that said it would take about two weeks, I specifically asked to be kept abreast of the project.  Instead, this two week project turned into a four month nightmare!  I don't fault the workers, but the owner/manager had the communication and business skills on par with any organization that has driven themselves out of business for not listening to the consumer.  You would have thought that a $35,000 job would have come with some progress updates.  Instead, they complained about trenching under the building and lack of cooperation from the tenants for access.  This is something they knew from the moment they bid the project.  But instead of communicating these issues, they just let it drag on.  I still to this day do not know what took so long.  I was told at the beginning of the job, that the gas would remain on in the units that did not have leaks, that the city would turn on the meters as they passed inspection, etc.  All these were either lies or a general lack of knowledge on the City of Long Beach policies.  The outcome was that 21 units went without gas for heating and for cooking for FOUR months!  To pour salt in the wound, I facilitated getting access to some units by hand delivering keys to their receptionist.  They lost the keys and then tried to say that I had given them different keys and point the finger at me.  I sent them so many emails asking for updates that went unanswered.  The sad part is that Gorsuch was so short sided as the association had voted to allow only one plumbing company to do all future work on the building and that company was to be Gorsuch.  Now, we have voted to ban them from ever doing business with our association again.  Lastly, the units in the building are owned by investors, Realtors, property managers and others who would have the ability to recommend Gorsuch for many other plumbing jobs.  Instead I will recommend everyone to avoid them; especially on big jobs at condos, apartment buildings etc.

We had backed up toilets, bathtub.  Mario arrived and quickly assessed the situation --determined it was a main line issue.  He ran a small snake machine to attempt to clear the line.  The snake did not go far enough.  He called in assistance (Zack) along with a larger snake machine.  The snake went approximately 130 feet before encountering the issue (and cutting up the roots/blockage to clear the stoppage). Mario recommended a camera inspection as well to determine areas of concern.  Mario and Zack were both very professional and hard working.  Mario was extremely informative, taking the time to explain his process and educate on potential problems encountered now and for the future.  The job took some time and ran late --Mario and Zack were committed, stayed late to make sure the job was complete --that our problem was resolved same day.

He was able to fix the water line without destroying the fence or landscaping around our home.  There was one small issue that was not his fault, just part of working with an older home, but he explained the situation very well and we came to an agreement on how it should be done.  He was very punctual and professional.

My mom has used Gorsuch for 40 years and recommended them to me. I called them out last after two other contractors. I am glad I did. I originally wanted a tankless water heater to take advantage of the tax credit as well as replacing my AC system. The technician convinced me to spend less money and stick with a conventional water heater! Instead I was able to replace my furnace with a much more efficient unit for .a lot less. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. It hasn't been cold enough for me to test the heater but the AC is cold.

While immediate problem seemed to be resolved it was not. Worker used "tool" to detect source of leaking pipe inside a common wall which was impressive, but the subsequent problems revealed that the use of "tools" does not always make for a successful resolution of the problem.
Response from GORSUCH PLUMBING & HEATING
"I can't tell from the description what job this was but I do know that this reviewer was not our customer. I don't see how she could have an informed opinion on how much the customer was charged or if there were mistakes made. (Note, we do make mistakes but I don't know if this is one of them) It is likely the reviewer was inconvenienced and needed to let the world know."

THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE, BUT WHAT THEY STARTED THEY DID NOT FINISH. THEY CONTACTED US APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS LATER TO SEE IF I STILL WANT HIM TO DO THE WORK, AND OF COURSE I SAID NO.
