His duct work bid included taking the insulation out around the plenum and replacing it. The old insulation is still around the plenum. New ducts are attatched to the old insulation, which may contain mold.  I was really disappointed that the work was not done according to the bid and what was discussed. I was told by another contractor that the ducts need to be secured better to avoid leakage and that the duct work to the dining room and kitchen needs to be modified. The air flow is lacking.

The insulation in the attic was also removed. I have since found that some of the old insulation is still there under the new insulation. When Chris asked me what insulation I wanted , I asked him to call my brother, who had said there was one kind I shouldn't use. When Chris brought out the insulation and I saw the word cellulous and saw that the material was very loose and messy, I asked if he had talked to my brother. He said yes. I should have called my brother right away. But I trusted Chris, yet found out later he hadn't discussed insulation with him. When I found the insulation in the heater closet, Chris vacumed it up, but never fixed the problem. Thus insulation kept falling. I have vacummed it up several times. Scrubbers had been placed in my home by another company for a week and 4 days, yet the fine insulation is still in the air.  Hepa filters have been placed up in the attic by yet another contractor to help keep the insulation from coming into the heater closet. I was told by 2 different companies that not enough insulation was installed. 

I have called Chris 5 times and emailed him twice with no response.

Had my air ducts cleaned and worker recommended an electrostatic filter that was not cheep. I have worked with Chris on several occations and he had saved me money before so I called him.  He told me there was a different product that worked better and was cheeper. He came over and checked my furnice and gave me a filter  with a uv light combo recommendation. It was several hundred dollars cheeper so I was excited. I have a child with asthma and when he gets colds it flars up so I am trying to be proactive this winter to help him get through with less asthma attacks.  He also has allergies in his house and uses this system and said it made a difference.  He even said if I don't notice a difference he would buy it back and we could try something else, so what did I have to loose?  He is installing it tomorrow and I look forward to a better winter.  I highly recommend working with Chris even if you have gotten another bid.  One bid I got wanted me to put in a whole new system and Chris came over and said I just need a new damper!

The service man came out and reviewed the non functioning unit. He identified the problem as bad connection. he also repaired the whole house fan. A minor adjustment.  He only charged for a minimum visit cost.
We have used this company before and found them to be reliable, competent and trustworthy.
