Yari the Handyman

I found him on Angie's List and it was a very unfavorable experience. He said he fixed it when he left but it did not work again the next day. When I called him back he refused to come back. I thought he was overpriced for what he did and the quality of work was unsatisfactory.

We hired Yari to fix a door (which he ruined and had to replace, the replacement is of much lower quality), we hired him to paint, he brought in someone else to do that job, and now the ceiling where he performed light carpentry is cracking, he also asked that we rate his work before the job was finished.

FROM THE VERY START THE EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT.
THE ESTIMATES WERE NICE.
THE WORK WAS QUICK AND PROFESSIONAL.
THEY PAID ATTENTION TO THE SMALLEST DETAIL.
THE CREW WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO MAKE ME HAPPY.
THE CLEANUP WAS TOP NOTCH.
AND THE RESPECT THEY GAVE TO ME AND MY FAMILY WAS EXCELLENT.
FOR YOUR REPAIR NEEDS THIS IS THE FIRM TO HIRE.

I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark. 

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving.

Yari was very good about responding to my request. It was cold and the heater wasn't working properly.

The leak was repaired.

The men were all very professional and friendly and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after each task and were very precise about the time estimates. The plumber knew his stuff and was even able to find the water cutoff even though I didn't know where it was (nor did any of my neighbors). They were fast and efficient. The wall patch is invisible.

Our house was broken into the night before we moved in, and there were several minor issues which needed to be fixed. I researched here on Angie's List and Yari had good reviews and was close. I prefer to use local businesses if at all possible. Yariv was polite and nice to work with. He showed up on time and was very matter-of-fact about the job. This was an insurance claim, so I wasn't worried about pricing too much, but it was very reasonable in my opinion. The only problem I had was when the rains came later on and the shed door expanded with humidity. It started to scrape on the bottom. I could have called him back, but decided to fix it myself and it was no problem. I would not hesitate to use him again for general handyman needs. Thanks!

I contacted Yari over the phone. Even though he was busy, he was very good about returning my call and scheduling an appt. He visited the property and keep me informed about the repairs since I don't live locally. Unfortunately, I was not able to see the work done. However, the tenant seemed happy and satisfied. Yari was efficient, friendly, and professional.

I met Isaac through his son, Yari the handyman, who did excellent work remodeling the back room of our house. Isaac was polite, courteous and professional. He explained the issues with our roof, provided me with a fair estimate and all of this on New Year's Eve day! His crew came out on the second of January and finished the roof in one day. There was no trace of them in the yard after they left which is an extremely high compliment! Since I wasn't able to get up to the roof Isaac took pains to show me the before and after photos of his crew's work. This company was highly reliable and extremely communicative, taking pains to make sure that the customer was happy. I have already recommended them to a neighbor and will use them again in the future for some carpentry work we're planning to do in the house.

Novatec were professional, punctual, attentive and very clean. From start to finish this was a great and positive experience (unlike previous experience I had with other companies). Isaac went far and beyond the ?call of duty? and with his expertise as a building inspector, rechecked my house and gave me a detailed report of the condition of the house, at no charge. The most important thing for me was to have a fixed price with no surprises, a set date, and detailed information of the job to be performed. Hurray, I was more than pleased. Once the bathroom was done, I also did my flooring on the stairs and the hallway since I was impressed, happy and thrilled.

Yari was very professional. He answered his phone right away, scheduled an appointment for the next day and - after talking - he started work immediately. He explained to me step-by-step what he was doing and gave me alternatives for fixing damage done from a previous leak. I never felt like he was trying to up sell me, but rather explaining all the options. Both of his crew, Pedro and Casanova, worked quickly and well. I would definitely use this company again because I really appreciate having a licensed handyman take care of whatever jobs we need done.

Yari is a responsible, reliable gentleman who did what he said he would do and more. When he came a second time to complete some work, I was not able to be home and therefore pay him, and that was not an issue for him, in fact I had to call HIM to ask how I could get the check to him. He worked hard, sometimes giving me a break on a price because it took longer to get parts,etc. Just a good, trustworthy man.

Yari called me back the very day I called him and was able to come out the next day to give me an estimate. Yari showed up with molding samples and the samples we're nicer (real wood) and a better price than what you can get from a place like Home Depot. Yari had great ideas and I believe I used all of them. My husband and I were only going to do a few home improvements now but we kept calling Yari back for additional work because he does a really good job and is pleasure to be around. Yari was here the day I had a wardrobe unit delivered and for some reason all the hardware was unscrewed. Yari noticed I was disappointed and quickly jumped in and drilled the hardware back in. On another day, my 3 year old daughter accidental ripped the curtain rode down from her room and Yari jumped in and fixed it. He never later said I owed me more money. Yari will give you a quote and stick to it. He won't nickel and dime you and he'll go out of his way to make you happy.

Excellent experience. Yari is always on time, courteous and easy to work with. He has even worked on holidays for us! He is very detail oriented and the end result is exactly what was asked for and even better!! I think you will find his pricing to be very competitive. We have already hired him for another project and will continue to do so for future needs.
