The product, Solatube, rocks! Its mirrored tube actually increases the available natural light through the cut hole. Our previously dark living room and bedroom now look like atriums, with subtle but bright beams of natual light splashing through them. And as Leamon advised, Solatubes do not affect the clarity of the wall-mounted flatscreen. They don't increase heat and claim to screen out UV rays, protecting paint and fabric.

When the skylights arrived, our contractor said they were the wrong size and would not fit our openings. I called Solatube and spoke to Mr. Leamon, stating we had given precise dimensions and they should pick up the units to return to the factory. But Mr. Leamon said that he could make them fit. I was skeptical, but I invited him to come look at the job. He came during the day when we were not home. He took the new skylights up on the roof, and in order to install them, he apparently CUT the metal frames on the skylights and trimmed the wood frames on the roof. He sealed the cuts with silicone. They basically worked, but the screen has never fit tightly because the frame is not square, and more recently, the rain gets into the roof.

This was absolutely fantastic company. I had trouble finding the right people to do this work for almost a year. One contractor gave us a quote of $850, which we thought was too expensive for the job. Solatube performed the job for $110, in a professional, efficient manner. After so many disappointing experiences dealing with various household service companies, this was an uplifting, refreshing experience and made my subscription to Angie's List definitely worth the money!

THIS COMPANY CAME TO MY HOME TO REPLACE DAMAGED SKYLIGHTS AFTER A FIRE AND I'M VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SERVICE. THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE AND WORK COMPLETED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.
