Kilowatt did a fantastic job replacing our HVAC unit, which went out during the 2020 record breaking heatwave. An added challenge was getting the new unit from the street onto the far end of our two story building roof. This was all deftly handled by Dean and his crew. We highly recommend them. If you need heating and AC work done, go with them. You'll be glad you did!

I've used Kilowatt for years and they always provide excellent service and send out great technicians. They are always very prompt and are very patient explaining anything you want to know. My tenant was nice enough to let the technician in and Kilowatt just emailed me the bill. It saved me so much time and I knew I could trust Kilowatt with just sending me the bill.

The technician came out and determined that the compressor went out on my 20-year old unit. He recommended replacing the unit and gave a price to replace it. I paid the $99 inspection cost, with the assumption that the inspection cost would be discounted if I chose to purchase the unit from Kilowatt. After getting two other bids I went with a different installer but Kilowatt was responsive and professional. Great team!

Awesome service and very reasonable prices. Our problem was no cold air pumping from vents. We couldn't get a hold of our "regular guy," so tried Kilowatt HVAC. They were very professional and informative, polite and not-salesman-like. Technician was Byron. He was very good. Got there earlier than expected. Was clean and friendly. He took over an hour to throughly go through the entire system, including the furnace and blower in the attic (our condenser is in backyard). He couldn't find anything wrong mechanically. But did find very dirty filter in furnace, which he removed and replaced the filter in hallway with thinner one. This seemed to fix problem. But just to be on the safe side, he topped off the refrigerant. Byron then went back to check, measuring with an electronic thermometer that the unit was blowing out sufficiently cold air. All told, we were only charged $99. What great service, at very friendly prices. I would highly recommend Kilowatt HVAC, especially Byron.

Byron came out and he was excellent. He was very careful with a very trick acoustical ceiling that has to be taken out to access the pancake unit. He is very friendly and and knowledgable. There was no charge for the service, since I had recommended my daughter to use Kilowatt when she had a new heat/air unit put in.

My daughter needed a new heater and air conditioner. And since I've used Kilowatt many times in the past, and know they do good work and are very honest, she had them come out. They arrived on time and even the owner, Dean, came out. They were all very pleasant and professional. Dean was there most of the time working with the guys and overseeing everything. Dean makes sure that everything is done perfectly.
The unit is working great. My daughter is very happy with it and the excellent service.

They are a great company. Great workmanship and they truly seem to care and be very thorough. They are well trained in repairs and do their absolute best to complete the job as promised and planned and on budget. Ellie (at the office) who books the appointments is WONDERFUL as well. That being said - they charge a $165.00 diagnostic fee which does NOT apply to the repair costs which doesn't seem fair to me and seems excessive. That's my only complaint which I did express to them.

Frequently more than one repair is needed and if we build the diagnostic fee into the price of the repair people would be charged several times for the same diagnostic service. If you are looking for an air conditioning contractor in Los Angeles I recommend that you call Kilowatt. I called them in a panic years ago during a heat wave when our AC conked out. They were responsive and professional. They came the same day and my home was cool that evening. I have used them and referred them many times since. They have maintained the heating and cooling system in my home, my parents home and the homes of many of my neighbors. Last year they installed a new energy-efficient system for us that has saved us money noticeably on our electric bill. I think the insulation that they put up in the attic helped too. The thing I really appreciate about Kilowatt is that they explain all my options and they are really knowledgeable about cost effective solutions.

Our water heater had been leaking for some time, but it got worse over the weekend, and we knew we had to replace it. I began to research plumbers, but then I discovered that Kilowatt does water heater replacement. We had used them to install central heat and air in our house a few years ago, and they've been wonderful in maintaining the system and doing any repairs necessary, so we've called them for electrical work as well. They also installed new insulation in our attic. They've always been quick to respond, very professional and efficient. They were able to do the work on the same day that I called. It was finished within a few hours, and it was a great relief to us. The new water heater is much more efficient than the old one, and we're very pleased.

Kilowatt's quote was considerably lower than the other two vendors we interviewed. Dean suggested only one air handler where the other guys suggested two. Turned out Dean was right. The system heats and cools our downstairs beautifully. Dean is a pleasure to work with.
