Do It Right Construction

We recently had the pleasure of working with Noam and his team on a complete kitchen remodel and they exceeded my family’s expectations. Noam has a calm and relaxing demeanor, which was much appreciated to offset any nerves from undertaking a big kitchen project. He has a tremendous amount of experience, and it shows. Noam has assembled a “dream team” – the best of the best. Every one of them was dedicated to making sure the project was completed to the highest standards. They were also very respectful of our space and worked diligently with the least amount of disruption as possible. Each of my family members commented on how quickly the time passed, which was a testament to how efficiently Noam’s team worked. Noam was an excellent contractor and was always available to answer my questions and was extremely responsive throughout the project. The project was completed on time (in fact, ahead of schedule), within budget, and the quality of the work was outstanding. Noam is also a true professional. In the couple of instances where additional work was necessary, Noam took it in stride and came up with solutions. He was also able to seamlessly work in an additional fireplace refacing project during the kitchen remodel. On top of that, his team fixed a gate in my yard that was previously broken. The team used the gate to enter and exit my property and they took it upon themselves to fix it for me at the end of the project. I’m not sure if it’s possible to find another team that would go above and beyond in this manner! We cannot recommend Noam and his team highly enough. They are a professional, talented, and trustworthy group of people who take great pride in their work. If you are looking for a contractor for your next home renovation project, I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Noam and his exceptional team.

Noam was recommended to me by my best friend after he renovated parts of her house. She is very detail oriented and on top of everything, so the fact that she was pleased and impressed was a good sign. We hired Noam for a major project that included remodeling both bathrooms in our home, the primary bedroom/closet, kitchen and all new plumbing (repiping the entire house, replacing the main water and gas lines and adding a tankless water heater). The project also required significant electrical work.  Noam's main crew (two crews of two people each) is just fantastic. Antonio, Ricardo, Adrian and Tomas are wonderful. They are incredibly talented craftsmen who take a lot of pride in their work. My household has medically vulnerable people so we required everyone to be masked at all times while inside the house, and we used strategically placed hepa filters around the house. Everyone followed our protocols and respected each other, no problem. Better yet, everyone stayed healthy during the three-month project which spanned over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yes, three adults and two dogs  lived inside the home during this remodel. That choice is not for the faint of heart, but Noam and his crew made it work.  Noam brings in other third party vendors for things like electric, air conditioning, plumbing, kitchen cabinets, etc. and those crews were also very good.  Our project started a few days later than originally scheduled but finished on time, which was great. Noam's crew always arrives early (hanging out in their cars) and is ready to start promptly at 8am. They pack up and leave at 4pm. It's a long day and they only take a lunch break. They work really hard and don't waste time. The crew would also ask me questions about the way I wanted certain things done and presented me with various options to make sure that I as the client had a choice in the way things were done, when possible. I enjoyed working with Noam because he is very calm and chill, and kept the environment from becoming chaotic. He is also extremely accessible by phone and text. He will not ghost you or avoid your calls. He also comes to the site nearly every day to check on the progress of the project. He cares about the work being done and your satisfaction as the client. Noam is old school so don't expect some fancy, cutting edge 3D rendering of your remodel plans. Expect sketches on a notepad. Noam provides a schedule with dates by which he expects materials ordered, (by you.. or by him, client's choice for the most part) and in-hand. Even though I had these dates down on paper, sometimes I forgot about certain deadlines due to the sheer volume of materials needed, and therefore I didn't have something ready when his crew needed it. I'd recommend that clients add digital calendar reminders to stay on top of everything. Luckily, we were never set back by those few forgetful moments on my part. I'd recommend running every single material past Noam (prior to purchase) and review all the specs with him in person. All the measurements, etc. For example, I almost bought a kitchen window without argon gas because I didn't know that it is needed to pass a city inspection. I did accidentally purchase a bathtub with the drain on the wrong side, and nobody caught the error. You cannot over-communicate. Double check everything.  If this is your first time doing construction, be aware that some delivered items will arrive damaged. We received damaged bathtubs, toilets, etc. So that takes extra time to send back and get replaced. I would've ordered everything super early if it weren't for the fact that we didn't have enough room to store the items. Noam and his crew were incredibly helpful in inspecting all of our deliveries as soon as they arrived, correctly anticipating that some items would need to be returned and replaced. When Noam writes up an estimate and contract, he includes allowances for certain materials with a fixed price (for the sake of getting an estimate), for example, $3 per square foot of bathroom floor tile. The allowances included are doable in the sense that you can find materials at those low costs, but you'll most likely go over those allowances when it comes time to actually buy materials, thus you will spend more money than what is laid out in the contract. In our case, this mostly applied to tile and flooring, and some appliances like bathroom vanities. You get what you pay for and when you see materials like tile in person, you can easily tell the difference in quality between the cheap stuff and the higher end materials.  I also appreciated that Noam has vendors he works with frequently for things like kitchen countertops. There are so many places that sell slabs. The vendor he recommended to us was great and we really enjoyed working with them.  Lastly, I really appreciated that any time there was a small hiccup or if something unexpected happened (which was rare), Noam told us about it quickly and/or troubleshooted problems immediately.  We really enjoyed working with Noam and his crew, and plan to do so again for future projects.  

We had extensive water damage to the upstairs of our house and hired Noam to rebuild it for us. When we hired him, the upstairs had been taken down to the wood framing and he rebuilt 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including closets and linen cabinets. One of the reasons we chose Noam was his attention to detail. Prior to hiring him, I had asked to see one of his projects so that I could make sure things were straight and had clean lines, especially the tile. I was really pleased with this aspect of his work, and I tend to be picky about this sort of thing. And the custom closet doors and cabinets he made for us are perfect. Noam communicated clearly about the timeline and when we would need to make our selections for things like the vanities, tile, and paint colors. When he encountered a problem, such as the doors we wanted being out of stock, he informed us right away, told us our options, and how much it would cost. Because we had filed a homeowner's claim and hired a public adjuster, we asked Noam to inform us if he encountered additional costs. He did so and provided appropriate documentation, which helped us to get additional funds to cover those expenses. Throughout the entire job, Noam and his crew were professional and punctual. He was in communication with his crew daily (even when he got sick) and they finished the job on time. Even toward the end of the job, he was at our house every day to make sure that things were getting done right. We are so pleased with how everything turned out and when we update our kitchen, we will be calling Noam!

Noam and his crews remodeled out kitchen and laundry room. First, Noam was very easy to work with, offering us suggestions and advice, but ultimately going with our decisions. Antonio and his crew did almost everything -- demo, walls, electrical, plumbing, painting, tiling and stucco -- and they were excellent at everything. Rafael and his crew installed custom cabinets to our color spec. Again, they did beautiful work. Everyone was professional, courteous and responsive. I can't recommend Noam and his crews highly enough.

Simply put, Noam and his crew were awesome. Noam helped us renovate our garage, transforming it from a concrete slab with four walls into an incredible office/guest house. He was with us every step of the way, from turning in the most comprehensive (and reasonably priced!) bid to helping us design the space to personally being on site every day to make sure things were running smoothly. He came in on time, didn't go over budget, and was always responsive when we needed him. We'll be using Noam and his guys for all our future renovation needs, big and small. (Also, their tile work was INCREDIBLE.) Thanks Noam!

We recently did a big home renovation project with Do It Right Construction: A full bathroom and kitchen renovation, and a new bedroom addition. Noam nailed the role of contractor: He did what he said he was going to do, for the price he quoted, within the time frame he said he would do it in. My husband and I were newbies to home renovation, and I’m glad we had Noam to help guide us: He created deadlines for each part of the process (ex. when we needed to order tile, provide a list of paint colors, etc.) and he had excellent recommendations for vendors (all of which we used). He also seamlessly moved the project through inspections and made sure we hit (and passed) each one. Additionally, early in the project, Noam noticed an issue with our plans and worked with us to fix the problem; it was an additional cost to rectify, as was any ask outside the written contract, but I greatly appreciated that Noam was paying attention to our project and wanted to do it right. In fact, Noam was on site most days, and easy to communicate with (via phone, email and text). His team of workers are also dependable and good at what they do, and they, and Noam, addressed any concerns/fixes we requested quickly and efficiently. All in all, we had a great experience with Noam, and we are very happy and comfortable in our new space!

We interviewed three contractors and hired Noam with Do It Right Construction because he was the most knowledgeable. His price wasn't the lowest but also wasn't the highest. He completely remodeled our condo including new kitchen, bathroom, doors, flooring, and painting. Noam listened to our needs and made very good suggestions. He was very easy to deal with, he was at the job site everyday and gave us a daily report about the job progress. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and we already referred him to a few of our friends.

Pros: Noem is responsive, shows up when he says, finishes the job when he says, and his quote WAS fair (with caveats below), not the highest and not the lowest. Knows city codes and when to hire an architect. Cons: Does not admit it when he makes a mistake. Does not make good on his mistakes without charging you for it. Does not take pride in his work (not detail oriented). Is not patient with picky people. Finding good contractors is hard so when I came across the great reviews and saw that Noem is not flaky, the decision to hire him was not hard. We gutted our entire house and moved walls around. Expanded our kitchen, created two closets, a brand new laundry room and a brand new bathroom. Our biggest issue was his temperament and the amount of extra charges we incurred because of mistakes on his part. When we made a mistake like not realizing we had to move a vent (after drywall was done) to make room for a chandelier base, we paid for it, as we should. But when he made a mistake like not squaring off the corners in our dining room while squaring off the corners in the connected hallway, he would not admit fault. He claimed when he asked us about corners, he was only referring to the hallway. Not true. He never explicitly named any room. He asked if we want square or round corners so we naturally assumed he meant all corners that were being plastered. We had to pay $700 to square off the remaining corners in the dining room connecting to the hallway. This was only one of MANY mistakes like that which he would not own and flat out denied costing us $$$. Listing them here would be too long to read. What is most difficult to endure is Noem's unyielding attitude. For example, when he made a mistake in the bathroom, admited it only AFTER I showed him proof via text (before that he argued), and offered to redo the entier bathroom, we let it go even though we were very dissapointed that our bathroom, built from scratch did not turn out the way we wanted it. We didn't want to be unreasonable. But when we asked him not to charge us for the squaring of the dining room corners because we didn't have him redo the entire bathroom, he would not budge. You decide if that's fair or not. Lastly, if you like good craftsmenship, he's not your guy. Noem uses one guy and his brother for laying tile, plaster, drywall, skim coating, base boards etc. For example, they laid down tile without plastic spacers and because of that we did not get the spacing we wanted AND they are completely uneven. The wall in our bathroom and kitchen should have been spaced 1/8 and the floor 1/16. See for yourself closeups with ruler and pulled back to see how uneven they are. The wall wasn't quite 1/8 and way smaller in other areas. The floor didn't even come close to our agreed 1/16. We were so very bummed. This was supposed to be our dream bathroom built from scratch. There was no reason for it not to be what we wanted. And again, we did not have him redo it because we were being reasonable. Another example, our modern square baseboards did not have straight smooth edges on the exposed sides. Later when we did the bedrooms ourselves, we realized by sheer coincidence his worker was using the wrong tool, a circular saw, the same one we used that gave us uneven edges. So we rented the proper tool, a miter saw, instead which gave us perfectly straight and smooth edges. Expect lots of shortcuts like that to save money if you care about details. Also expect for them to make asthetic decisions without running it by you like the color of the fan vent cover in the bathroom and kitchen, or like not discussing options on how to bring the corners of the tile together in the bathroom step (see phtoos) etc. etc. etc. By the end, the job became a disaster with screaming matches as his unyielding and argumentative nature got to me. He does not aim to please the customer and based on older reviews about not charging for changes, he has clearly learned he needs to charge for every change but the problem is, aside from charging you when he makes a mistake, he takes advantage and extra charges are too high. All in all, he would have gotten 4 stars if he was patient, admited when he was wrong and did right by us. He would have gotten 5 stars if he was detail oriented. As a business owner myself, I know what it's like to be on the other side and I would never treat a paying customer, no matter how picky, the way he treated us when he dissagreed with us. Besides, we felt after $150,000 we were entitled to being picky. Don't you think?

Noam is a fantastic contractor. He is very honest, organized and reliable. He did a very large remodel for us and his crew worked hard. Their detail work was amazing. They kept the project on time (actually early) and on budget. Noam is a really nice guy, easy to work with and very fair and honest about his pricing. He was also quite helpful at finding us some great deals and clever solutions to for some of our challenging changes. We highly recommend him!

It was awesome. Do It Right Construction is so great. They are quick and responsive with any issues. They do incredible work. They take the appropriate time to do an incredible job. I will be hiring them again on the next home project.

We've used Do It Right Construction for several jobs at our home. The owner, Noam, provides his services and responses in a timely manner. For our second project with Noam, we added on a master bathroom on top of a pre-existing balcony. He was able to complete the job very quickly, and even came back to make additional adjustments after everything was finished. He takes pride in his quality of work and he is honest and fair. Not to mention, a number of our friends have been using Do It Right Construction, with a high level of satisfaction. Thank you again, Noam.

We couldn’t be happier with the work and the whole process. We did a large remodel on one bathroom including enlarging it and gutting the entire space. The second bathroom was less drastic but also involved gutting it . The project started on time, they worked every day with no delays. It went a few days longer than originally estimated but that is because we changed some of the work which made it more labor intensive. The workmanship is beautiful. We did a lot of tiling and it is perfect. They protected the space and cleaned up every day before they left. Originally I thought we would have to move out of our bedroom while the work was being done but I was wrong. They left everything In livable condition when they left for the day. We put this off for 10 years dreading what it would be like. After working with Noam we’re thinking of doing our kitchen now.

This was a complete remodel of master bathroom, closet and some electrical in other parts of my home. During the bidding process for my project, Do It Right Construction owner Noam impressed me as a very honest, knowledgeable and responsive person. He did not try to upsell or make irresponsible promises. He made a lot of excellent practical suggestions that helped me decide on the scope and details of my remodel. His price was competitive. The project went so smoothly. I had told Noam up front I wanted a project that ran with minimal stress and drama. I think Noam took this to heart and he was on site every day and addressed all the issues and concerns that came up with no fuss at all. I came to really trust Noam to take care of things properly. I did modit the project a bit as things went along and was very happy with the way Noam accommodated this. His crew, notably Antonio and Ricardo are meticulous craftsmen who arrived punctually, were respectful, quiet as possible, and cleaned up after each day. Despite being a little picky about tilework, I am delighted with my new shower. All the little details look just right. I was nervous about some pocket doors they were installing but these came out very well too. I am just loving my new bathroom and closet!! I told Noam before the project I would like it done by a certain date and Noam worked overdrive to get this done, including several days with extra crew. He finished right on time. I asked him to return to address a few nitpicky things which his crew did very graciously. Even the city inspector was very impressed with their work and said as much! I would certainly hire DIR construction again and give them my best recommendation. My only suggestion would be Noam changes the name to Do It Perfectly Construction!

Extremely happy with my bathroom remodel just completed by DoItRight Construction! This was a $30k remodel of master bathroom and closet (and some electrical in the master bedroom). I got several bids on the project but went with DIR as Noam, DIR owner/contractor, seemed to be trustworthy and reliable-answering my questions honestly and giving great suggestions on the scope/details of the project. His price was competitive too. Work began on schedule and Noam was there every day to monitor progress and address all questions/concerns. A few project modifications were necessary or requested by myself and Noam handled these just as I wanted. His crew (Antonio and Ricardo) were meticulous, detail oriented craftsmen. The tiling, plumbing, electric, flooring and new windows are all perfect! The crew were punctual, quiet, and cleaned up each day-a dream to have around compared with some previous experiences. I wanted the project done by a certain date and Noam worked very hard to make it happen, bringing in some extra crew and pushing though a couple Saturdays. He finished right on time. Based on this project, I can say Noam is an experienced, knowledgeable, trustworthy contactor who stays true to his word. At the outset, I told Noam I was seeking a contractor who could get the job done well and cause minimum stress and work for myself. I think he really took this to heart, because he ran this project super smoothly and with no drama. The final product absolutely exceeded my expectations. I love my new bathroom and closet. It was worth every penny and I will be calling on Noam and DoItRight Construction for any future projects. He gets my unreserved highest recommendation! Only suggestion-maybe he should change the company name to DoItPerfectly 

We are THRILLED with the work Noam and his crew did for us. This is the second job they've done in our house, and we wouldn't hire anyone else -- our kitchen and master bath (the first job) look like a million bucks but didn't cost it, and that's a victory. Noam is incredibly present and meticulous, and he and his guys cared about a job well done just as much as we did. We've heard contractor horror stories, and we lived one a decade ago, and he's completely changed my perception and erased my paranoia. He's a treasure.

Noam is the best! He is punctual, responsive, calming and a great communicator. His finish team is top notch! His primary focus was on ensuring the job got done right and to our full satisfaction. In any job of this size, there are roadblocks and Noam was always on top of things - offering us solutions and options. He was at our house every day to check on things and gave us regular status updates. His team finished on time - to the exact day he initially quoted us. I cannot imagine working with anyone else for our home improvement needs in the future.

Noam and his company "Do It Right Construction" have provided high quality work for us within a very short amount of time. Noam is highly knowledgeable about all areas of construction and remodeling. He was always prompt in returning texts, emails, and voicemails, and he visited the work site on a regular basis. Noam and his crew are honest, and hard working, and it is clear that they take pride in their work. The quality of work was very good and we are looking forward to working with him again in the very near future.

Owner, Noam Itzhaki, listened, made excellent suggestions, responded to the ups and downs of construction facilely, and overall made a challenging and nerve-wracking process relatively easy. He also never tried to upsell us, but also made sure we were aware of various options, and, when we asked, his educated opinion. Moreover, his crew was both exceptionally skilled and have real pride in their work. We recommend him and them highly.

Incredible. On budget and under time. Professional work done impeccably and the contractor was very responsive. From beginning to end (and even now, after it's completed) if we had any problem or concern or question, he answered within 24 hours. He is also very calm and even handed so there was never any stress. Everything could be handled. He hires great people who are meticulous.

Noam Itzhaki and his competent crew from Do It Right Construction finished a $240k remodel on our home in 2016, and we are very happy with the results. He came in on time and on budget. The only snafus we ran into were mainly the fault of the engineer we hired, but Noam and his crew were able to not only spot the problems before they became bigger, more expensive headaches, they also helped us to solve the issue and proceed without losing time. I interviewed about 10 contractors, and what I liked about Noam was that he was incredibly frank and honest, very attentive to us and our project, and organized. He works on one project at a time, which allows him to be on site everyday, and keep a very tight schedule. They worked so fast in fact, that we had trouble keeping up with choosing materials to supply them with! My father in law does some contracting work and he was as impressed with Do It Right's workmanship and Noam's professionalism as I was. Do It Right Construction made what could have been a nightmare project, a very pleasant and straightforward process. We now have a new roof, new HVAC, new energy efficient windows and doors, new flooring throughout, new electrical box, new water heater, new interior doors, a brand new kitchen and master bath, 165 more square feet, and much better flow to our home, all in just 4 short months! We already have more projects in mind and will definitely be calling upon him again. I highly recommend Do It Right Construction for your remodeling needs.

Noam and his team did fantastic work on our house. We had one big bathroom remodel and a couple related projects (from a mold issue), and his team got to work swiftly and finished on time and on budget. The sequence in which they did all the different bits and pieces was carefully thought-out so that it made the most sense, in terms of work flow, which we appreciated. Noam was easily reachable and very hands-on, and was very careful to let us know if a change we were making would affect the budget -- and always encouraged us to hit up Lowes or Osh whenever possible, because he was conscious that some of the high-end tile shops and hardware stores can also run up the budget, and he didn't want us to run into any nasty surprises there either. But he also had top-notch cabinet and tile referrals for when we did end up needing them. And one of the trickiest parts of our project was fixing a corner of the wood floor without ripping up the whole thing. The floors in our house are old and with a lot of variations in grain and color, and other contractors were very worried about matching them. Noam wasn't worried, and he was right: You can't even tell which part of the room they had to rip out and replace. He saved us a ton of money by being able to do that. So we would, and will, absolutely use his services again. It was so refreshing to find someone trustworthy and responsible, and who could work quickly without also cutting corners. Big thumbs up.
