I never bother writing reviews, and I certainly never pay to write one! ?That said, I have been SO impressed with Carl Owens, owner of Pacific Trend Buiders, his work, ethics, top quality and punctuality, ?that I felt it was important to share with others.? Many of you know that sadly the world of builders/contractors/carpenters has a reputation for not being reliable. ?Difficult to count on. Carl is so punctual that my ?husband and I would literally laugh out loud each morning as the clock struck nine o'clock ?and Carl would arrive on the dot, every day for one month straight! His attention to detail and knowledge on "how to do things correctly" is impeccable. ?He knows the codes and has a good eye for aesthetics and quality. ?He is focused, hard working, and highly efficient. ?He doesn't "rush" through the job, rather he gets it done right! As a person doing tile work he's clearly had years of experience and you can trust that you wil have a perfect job in the end. Plumbing and electrical are also perfectly done. Framing, sheet rock, painting...he also carefully and cautiously selects sub contractors for some parts and expects the same level of responsibility and quality. ? Basidcally ?I have nothing but praise for Carl, the only problem now is that he works at such a high caliber that I can't possibly imagine ever hiring anyone else to ever work here again, it's got to be CARL with Pacific Trend Builders.! We are happy with the work Carl did for us.  The room was prepared before starting the work  and during the work to protect the floor and   prevent dust, etc from going outside the area.  Cleanup  was complete.    Carl coordinated his work with the countertop supplier and was here when they did the measuring and installing to be sure everything went smoothly.  He was reachable when we needed to communicate and advised us in areas where we were not savvy!  Contracts were clear.  We do not have any complaints at all.
We would definitely recommend his company and his services and would use him again for future remodeling.

The job was done perfectly, very professional. I am very pleased. Carl Owens attended to every detail of the project and made sure the job was done to perfection. I have worked in the commercial construction industry for 5+ years which include working with home builders and subcontractors. Pacific Trend Builders, by far, is the best and most professional contractor I have ever dealt with. He went above and beyond.
Pacific Trend Builders:

1. 1. Showed-up on time and on the days he said he would be at the project.
2. 2. Made sure the materials were installed properly and working correctly.
3. 3. Continued to contact the vendor and the home owner to make sure all aspects of the job were done correctly.
4. 4. Pride in his work which made the quality OUTSTANDING!

You don't see many subcontractors that show the traits that Pacific Trend Builders displays.
I would use Pacific Trend Builders again.

I used Carl for 4 hours ($99 special) to have three ceiling fans installed. Despite the crazy wiring in my newly acquired house, Carl did a great job of figuring out what should be used and what should not be. 2 of the fans had remotes and the other smaller one did not, no issues for Carl at all. I would definitely use him again as he is polite, punctual, courteous and he goes through great detail  to make sure you understand everything he is doing and what your alternatives are (fourth fan needs fan box installed while the others didn't). Thanks Carl!

I had a list of things to do.  List of a few:

Remove old pull down shades and brackets

Hang towel bar

Caulk top of shower surround

Install new deadbolt lock

Hang light in garage

Help with modifications to cat fence

Set up table saw and instructed how to use

He also had suggestions for what to do in a few other areas  Got a lot done and he showed me how to do several things on my own next time (which I wanted). 

I would hire for larger jobs in future.  

 

Carl came over to inspect what I wanted done. I had purchased the 4 hours of general contractor work for $99 through Angie's List. After he inspected the issues, we scheduled a day for him to perform the work. He was on time and had given some thought of what needed to be done. The toilet issue was an unknown thing. So he asked me if I wanted to take the toilet off and look? Or shim it and that should stop the movement. Knowing what I was getting into, I chose to have him remove the toilet. Sure enough, there were issues in there, including the fact that I am on a concrete slab and thee was no concrete in there for the toilet to bolt down to. Anyhow, he was able to address the problem and do his bed to fix it with the initial construction problems that had occurred. It took all 4 of my paid for hours...but I knew it was a possibility. Then came the electrical fan issue. He took pictures for me while in the attic to show me what was going on. Updating things to code and the duct work took another few hours. So I ultimately had to pay an additional $275 or so. But, Carl worked nearly all day, was punctual, clean, very professional, and he helped me understand what he was doing. I would definitely use him again.

Carl was on time, professional, friendly, listened to be sure he understood our needs. Communication was excellent. He had good advice to offer on the cabinet reconfiguration for the installation of the microwave.  The finished product is excellent.  Carl knows what needs to be done and how to do it right the first time. I would hire him to do any large or small building contracting work.  He presented me with a very detailed invoice and the price was quite fair.

The project came in on time and within budget.  Carl Owens at Pacific Trend Builders was a pleasure to work with, very conscientious, reliable, managed his subs well, very skilled in a number of trades.
