My Pinnacle 3/4 HP pool pump installed in 2007 did not start. It hummed and then stopped. I did a bit of research on the web and people said it could be starter capacitor, wiring, or impeller. I searched for a few pool maintenance providers near my area that might possibly have the ability to diagnose and repair the pump and found A Pool Patrol on Angie's List.
Emailed an inquiry to A Pool Patrol and Rick called me back in half an hour (wow!). I described my problem over the phone, and he clearly explained a few possible causes just as I researched. We set up a time for him to come check on the pump on the same day and he showed at exactly the appointment time. Rick was friendly and knowledgeable. He was very patient to answer all my questions and explained clearly the costs for possible scenarios. He did not find obvious cause on the spot and had to take the pump back to his shop to check on the capacitor and wiring. He called me after about one hour to inform me that it was a bad starter capacitor and he replaced it. He brought back the pump in less than an hour or so and my pump was back to order. The problem was fixed in less than four hours end to end amazingly. I got a bill from Rick including service call, parts, and bench labor, which I consider very reasonably.
Overall this is the most smooth experience I had ever had working with any contractors/service providers!
Thank you Rick!

Very professional. We had a nasty situation when he came in because of multiple accidental dumping of stagnant pools of algae filled water into the pool. He was able to clean the problem up in relatively short time.
In my opinion, he's a little too professional and business like. My feeling is that he sees his job as purely a business, and, as a business man, he'll perform his job to the best of his ability. Which I believe he does.
I was surprised by unexpected yearly charges, but I suspect that he was very upfront about these given his professionalism.
That said, I didn't setup the initial arrangement with him. My wife did. So I've had no real contact with him outside of paying the bills, his newsletters, ads for his other services, and "rules" reminders.

I was unhappy with the company I had used for several years. Through Angie's List I found A Pool Patrol. After contacting them, they arrived when committed to analyse the job and provide me a quote. We agreed on the sevice they would perform and the schedule of future visits. So far they have done all things committed and I am very happy with their service.

Rick contacted me quickly and came by for initial trouble shooting of pool cleaner problem and a leaking pipe attached to the pool heater. He ran a bit late but fixed the problem on the spot only charging the minimum fee for the visit to make up for running slightly late. This was followed up by work on the pool pumps that had problems including a leak on the main pump. The work was completed in a few days (parts to be ordered) and all the equipment is now working perfectly.

I have been using this company for a while. They come and clean our pool weekly. They repaired our hot tub for us. They are excellent. They are always very much on time. They handle the trouble shooting very well. They are good about repairing anything that needs to be fixed efficiently and promptly.

RICK WAS RESPONSIVE, EFFICIENT. HE THOROUGHLY TESTED FOR POSSIBLE LEAKS IN THE PIPES TO DETERMINE THAT IT WAS THE MOTOR PUMP THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND WAS WILLING TO WORK WITH ME TO COME TO A COMPETITIVE PRICE.
