Flooring
It didn't GO. On May 22, 2016 I paid Lowe's $40.00 to give me an estimate on laminate flooring. 6 days later someone came to my house and measured. 3 days later I went to Lowe's to get the estimate of laminate flooring and installation. (They did not call me). I was then informed because I had 12x12 tiles the flooring had to be tested for asbestos. On line I purchased an asbestos test kit for $10.00. I sent it ot Florida with another $40.00 and 2 weeks late I received the results. Lowe's was not having it. Lowe's made me contact an asbestos abatement company.  Lowe's claimed I needed a "Clean Air Certificate" before they would enter my home. After numerous fails, I finally got an abatement company to give me an estimate and come to my house. That cost was exactly $500.00. The floor was "encapsulated" and I received my $500.00 certificate. I took that to Lowe's and now I was informed I needed to have a moisture test done on my floor. The cost of this was $140.00. This test had to be done two times. The first reading was a hair bit high for their liking. I said I refuse to accept that and had it redone. There was no charge on the second one but the reading was still too high for their standards. I do not understand the readings, but the first one was 7.5, the second one was 6.2 and Lowe's WILL NOT lay flooring over a 4.5 reading. Mind you Lowe's never called me on any of this, I was the caller. Communication with Lowe's leaves a lot to be desired. SOOO, I went to Lowe's after the last "moisture test" to find out the final results. I was informed the number was still to high for Lowe's to install laminate flooring. Lowe's said for another $1,000.00 my 300 square foot floor would have to be sealed and it was nothing I could do. They have to do it. This is where I drew the line. I explained to the salesman Lowe's has already made me spend over $700.00 additional dollars and still rapidly rising and have nothing to show for it. I cancelled everything. NONE of this information was told to me by Lowe's prior to spending the initial $40.00 for a quote. Had I known all of this, I would have been able to make a conscientious decision on my part at that time. I was in the market for PERGO 12mm laminate flooring. I seriously believe the PERGO manufacturer should be made aware of the additional thousands of dollars that have to be spent by a home-owner prior to the purchase and install of their product. Today is August 23, 2016 and it has been 3 months, 1 day and over $700.00 that I have been living on concrete. There is NO WAY I would ever recommend anyone get flooring from Lowe's. This is down-right highway robbery!

They were pretty quick on coming out, they arrived on time, they were efficient, the cost seemed higher than other place but it was because of the brand of their heating system.

Lowe's then added over the phone, after the contract was signed, that I could not have removed any suspicious vinyl prior to the job starting or they would require an EPA clean air certificate (about $400) before they allowed their men in. This was a new requirement and would have killed the job in the first place. I would not have signed. At the last minute I removed the remaining 2 sq. ft. so that the installers would have an easier start at the job. When All Floor arrived (1 1/2 hrs. late from 2 miles away, no maps, no cell phones) they called Lowe's and reported all vinyl was gone in bath #2. Lowe's pulled the men off the job and refunded all but the amount for the original estimate and that one trip. Lowe's seemed to be more interested in what they could NOT do than what they COULD do. It turned out they they also would not seal the cement before laying the tile, and would not undercut the doors if they did not fit at the end of the job. All told to me after contract signed.

The sales associate who helped us with our order seemed to be a little ''put-out''. We had our installation date set on a Friday in the morning. The time frame we were given was 9-11:00 a.m. My husband had taken time off work to be there for this install. At about 10:45 he received a call that they were not coming afterall that our whole order was not in. We were thoroughly disappointed. That afternoon I proceeded to go into the store to speak to a manager. I was greeted by Rene Ponce the on duty manager. I explained the whole situation. He was going to look into it for me and call me on Monday morning. Well Monday came and went by Thursday I called again. Anyways, this is how the next couple of weeks went. Needless to say we did finally have our blinds installed. We never heard from Lowes management again. I fully understand things happen and may not always go as scheduled, but the lack of good customer service will not be forgotten. We will not use Lowes again.

The sales girl was most helpful as we discovered we couldn't really have the blinds we had originally wanted. She gathered up all the shade sample books for us to look through and answered our questions. We were told the blinds would be delivered in two weeks, but in fact, they arrived within a week. We are quite happy with the care and speedy order!

OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS NOT GOOD. WE DIDN'T GET THE ACCESSORIES FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS. EVERY TIME I CALLED ABOUT THEM I WAS TOLD IT LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD BEEN DELIVERED AND PICKED UP. THEY COULD NEVER TELL ME BY WHO OR WHERE MINE WERE. FINALLY, I WAS TOLD THE PERSON THAT ORDERED THEM DIDN'T PUT THE COLOR ON IT, SO IT WAS NEVER COMPLETED. AFTER ASKING WHY I WAS NEVER CALLED AND NOTIFIED OF THIS (WITH NO EXPLANATION) THEY FINALLY CONTACTED THE SUPPLIER WITH THE COLOR WE WANTED AND GOT THEM DELIVERED TO OUR HOME. WE WERE SUPPOSE TO GET THEM IN ABOUT 10 TO 14 DAYS. IT TOOK 2 MONTHS!!!
