Ray knows what he’s doing, but he’s an over-communicator and seems confused. Had to be led through providing an invoice (by email) for the homeowner, who I represent. Way too many calls from Ray, to me and to her.

Why I liked working with Ray: He is very straight forward. I let him know what I needed (replace a toilet for a small bathroom), he asked questions, researched the costs and let me know, then he picked up the items, showed up on time, installed the toilet, took away the old and cleaned up. Boom it was done! Ray was also available on Saturday which helped us out a lot.

Outstanding work. He quickly identified the issues, and knew exactly how to address each one. All work was done to the highest standard.

Ray is very knowledgeable and experienced, works fast, explains it all. He also replaced old galvanized pipe with copper under the house (tough job, OUCH); installed Speakman showerhead, new mechanism in TOTO toilets, backflushed all our pipes. IN the six years I've known him, he has definitely been our go-to guy. Though he was always busy, he still always fits us in. GREAT PLUMBER.

Ray is a great plumber. He's a busy guy who takes on large, multi-day projects, but was able to fit in my residential re-plumbing project. He replaced most of the galvanized steel with copper, and the majority of the cold line from the street. He took the time to explain things I didn't understand, and helped create a schedule that would work for my budget. I have more plumbing work lined up for Ray (when I get through some of my other projects)!

Overall it went well. This was a routine job -- not an emergency. It took a few weeks for Ray to furnish a quote for the new toilets, which he supplied as part of the job. Two of my 3 old toilets did not easily break free from the floor tiles (one had been caulked 25 years ago by a plumber, one by me). We solved this problem by hammering a long screwdriver between the toilet and floor, then using the created gap to hammer in a pry bar. Finally we used the pry bar's leverage to break the toilets loose. Fortunately these tools were available in my garage -- it would be good if Ray were to add similar tools to his truck inventory. Note that Ray currently works out of San Rafael, not Berkeley.

Ray came on a saturday to accommodate my schedule, replaced my antique kitchen faucet and spayer quickly and gave me some free advice on other aspects of my plumbing. Extremely professional and competent. This is the third time i've used Ray over many years and i've always been more than satistfied with all aspects of the services provided.

Every where else I called said it would be between a week and two weeks to get someone out to take a look (and told me it would be $250 to even look.) Ray Triola was on vacation, no less, and was able to correctly diagnose the problem with my water heater over the phone. He talked me through how to fix it myself, and called back to follow up. I give him major points for responsiveness and integrity, and I’d definitely use him in the future for my plumbing needs.

Other than a scheduling snafu, Ray did a great job of identifying my problem and fixing it.

Ray is THE MAN !! The job I had was a bit complicated and Ray was able to complete it quickly and professionally. He has experience, knowledge and intelligence - and brought all of them together to resolve the installation. He really thought about the best way to execute the solution. The work looks great, works great and was completed at a fair price. In addition, Ray is very personable and easy to work with. My highest recommendation.

For over twenty years, Ray has done excellent work at our home. He is not only an efficient plumber, but he is a craftsman who does very elegant work. All of the pipe joints are clean and he has never left our home with any debris in the lines. In the past, we have had to hire others last-minute and have always regretted it for the inferior quality of work. He is clean and orderly in his work. We have always received good value in the products that we have purchased as well as for the high quality of work that has been done. There is no one that we trust more.

The water pressure coming to our house was so high that the first pressure gauge couldn't lower it sufficiently, so he had to put in a more powerful one that could handle the pressure. He explained everything he was doing. I called him about 9 months later because the water pressure seemed to have dropped too low. Instead of making another visit, he explained to me how the pressure could be regulated at the gauge (and I'm not a DIY woman, but it was understandable to me). Saved us the cost of another visit and provided knowledge that is useful if water pressure drops too much in the future. (The water pressure to our house is known to vary widely.)

Triola Plumbing was a pleasure to work with. We had two sink fixtures replaced, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. Ray Triola was OK with installing the hardware we had already purchased, and didn't try to sell us "something better". He showed up as scheduled and finished the job in a timely fashion. He was willing to let us watch him work and he explained what he was doing at each step. Even when he found that the original installers had cemented the hardware in place with excessive and unnecessary grout, Ray remained professional, refraining from speculation about their skills or sanity. Instead, he simply showed us why the grout was pointless, and continued with the job at hand. The space under the bathroom sink is limited, requiring some minor adaptation of the drain plug. Ray pointed out the problem and again explained what he needed to do before proceeding. Despite the additional work, the job was done at close to the estimated time, and the final cost was reasonable. We would definitely choose Triola Plumbing again.

We found the parts for replacement for this long-discontinued faucet.  Instead of landing a big plumbing job, Ray, who has done many small plumbing jobs for me over the years and did not charge for this visit/consultation, helped me to an inexpensive resolution.  thanks, Ray!

Two toilets have been running fine since then. The third toilet developed another, unrelated problem. Ray promptly responded to my call and came back to fix it free of charge-taking responsibility for not having anticipated that this repair might be needed soon.

Prior to this recent visit, Ray did the plumbing for our major remodeling--3 bathrooms and the kitchen, including replacement of all the old pipes. His work has held up beautifully. He's been our plumber ever since (about 14 years). He's always been responsive and reliable!

Ray is extremely responsive. We own a multi-unit property that was built a long time ago, so it has lots of plumbing needs. Ray has rehabbed sink faucets, replaced tankless water heaters, serviced tank water heaters, and converted some of the old galvanized pipes to copper. Every time he is patient and helpful in explaining what the issue is, and quick and neat in doing the repairs. His prices are very fair, and we feel lucky to be one of his clients.

The sink problem was relatively minor and fixed right away, but it is important to mention that Ray has done work for us and neighbors for the last 12 years and solved many problems.  Ray has many years experience with every kind of plumbing.  He did all the plumbing for our bathroom addition, re-routed a gas line under the house, re-routed a long kitchen drain, installed a new water heater in a tricky place, put in an earthquake shutoff valve on in the gas line.  All were done perfectly and in a timely way.
