They didn't seem that interested in the project in terms of the details. The estimate was a little bit pricey for what they were doing. They were just going to build the deck. They weren't going to remove the old steps or anything. The other guy is doing the whole thing for about $1500 less. They have a reputation for good quality. So, they probably would have done a good job.

The people I've spoken to seem helpful on the phone, but then nothing.
I requested a quote March 4; the person said she'd have the estimator reach out to me within a week.
Two weeks go by, I call back; she's disappointed Jack (who I learn was assigned to be my estimator) hasn't called, but says she'll let him know and I should hear back shortly.
A few days go by, and I call again. She puts me in touch with Jack directly on the phone. I talk to Jack, describe the job, he listens and asks intelligent questions. He asks me a question for which I tell him I have to look something up, but can call back in five minutes. I call back in five minutes and get a voicemail, leave the info, and request a timeline for an estimate. Never calls me back.
I leave him a voicemail a few days later; don't hear back.
I leave another voicemail a week later, and never hear back, and am now giving up.
What a waste of time.

Guy who came to our house for estimate was not helpful at all in helping us come up with a fence that would suit our needs and mostly just seemed like he was 10 minutes late for somewhere he would rather be. After 2 weeks they finally sent me an estimate with the wrong persons name on it. They wouldn't call me back to schedule the work which was lucky for me because I got another estimate that was actually $1200 cheaper and that company (Guy's Fencing) did an outstanding job building us a new redwood fence.

I had a representative come out to look at a portion of my fence that was rotted and also to fix a fence latch. The gentleman was very nice, honest (I think), and professional but the estimate seemed extremely high for what I needed done.

Provided a detailed sketch of the fence and gate to be built along with the cost estimate. When the design was changed they did a new drawing with the revised estimate. Showed up on date agreed on, did the work and followed up with adjustments after the work was done. Very professional

They never called to see the fence or to tell me they were too busy.

Super service, excellent work. We are very, very pleased with the work of Kenwood Fence. They removed an old arbor and picket fence and built a new post-and-rail fence (no arbor in new fence). Crew was courteous and knowledgeable and finished to work in one day.

They answered the calls really quickly. The person who came out to give the bid was really great. He explained everything to me about what was going to be done. I interviewed 5 contractors. The independent ones and some of the contractors either didn't show or call or didn't follow through with the bid or were thousands of dollars higher in their estimate. I thought people wanted work! Flakes! I decided on Kenwood because that's what they do and were reasonably priced. Jack Goodin came out twice to go over what I wanted...then worked up the estimate. He followed through with appointments and if he couldn't call back...the secretary did! Or they e-mailed. Good communication! Follow through was huge to me because if they don't call back...how do you know they'll show up.? I'm a single female and I don't have anyone to take over if the job isn't done. I put it on the calendar and took the time off from work to be there if they had any questions...which at times they did. They got right to work...worked all day except when it rained one. Jose, who was in charge of the job, was a total professional and knows exactly what he's doing. At the end of the job, I decided I didn't want the pickets I had picked out. No problem. I decided on another design and they worked with me....and without my even asking...Jack said it was cheaper and credited me $400 off my invoice! My neighbors are so amazed at the difference. I'm getting so many compliments over the fence. I didn't scrimp on price or design...but I didn't get robbed or ignored either! Nothing worse than a job started and not completed. Mine was done in 5 days. Exactly as I had expected. It's beautiful and will last for years. You get what you pay for...I got more!
