About us

Is you concrete in bad shape, or maybe just plain boring? Turn your old concrete to looking brand new again or give it a bold makeover! We design and install cement-based finishes over existing concrete (and plywood!). These products are extremely durable, very versatile and make good economic sense. The coating's average thickness is only about 1/16" over existing concrete (and about 1/4" over plywood). Bring the warm feeling of an old world villa or the bold look of a flagstone pattern into your home. We can manipulate the color, the texture and the sheen, all into any pattern, to fit your own style. Based in Santa Rosa, CA, we repair and resurface boring concrete in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties with awesome decorative concrete overlays.

Tony Merla produces a good product with his concrete overlay system but his customer service and follow-up maintenance are non-existent. At the time he completed my job he acknowledged that there were two areas that were chipped and he said he would be back "next week" to repair them. Unfortunately, I paid him in full and I haven't seen him since. That was 2 1/2 years ago. I have called repeatedly and he has told me he would call in a few days to make an appointment and he has never called. I did make phone contact with him several months ago as it is time for the area to be cleaned and re-sealed and he said that it's a small job and will be really expensive and he has not set an appointment with me. He does not return phone calls. I definitely would NOT recommend this company. There are other contractors in the Santa Rosa area who use the same products ( from Allied Building Products) and have better reputations.
Response from Ifixconcrete.com
"This lines are not only in response to this negative comment, that, even though accurate, needs added information, but to all our great customers and supporters of my business. Since my humble start, I set out to be the very best at what I do and within a very short time my business skyrocketed due to one thing: REFERRALS. I guess is worth mentioning that the customer that referred my services to do this specific job said it best when he told me that I didn't have referrals, but, A FAN CLUB! I really appreciated that comment. Unfortunately, for us as well as for many of my friends working in similar trades, business fell atrocioulsy and abruptly. As a result we faced a spike in service calls (even though it consistently is only about 3% of our total work) and a dramatic drop in actual new jobs. To date, my small company has installed about a million square feet of concrete overlays all over Northern California and can, at any given moment provide any potential client with hundreds of positive referrals. With that said, my deepest apologies to the few clients that, over the last year or so, have perceived a sense of neglect in my part. Believe me, we have been trying to keep up, while still trying to navigate the rough seas of a lingering economic downturn. As far as resealing the job we did, that is something we offer as an extra service for an added cost. So, even though I appreciate the business opportunity, I have to reluctantly and sometimes with a good sense of regret take the jobs that make more economic sense. Now, I'm still aware that the ball remains in my court and in order to keep my impeccable record, an offer is extended to allow me to work on making my customer happy no matter what. Again, thank you to all of my great customers for allowing me to do a whole lot of concrete fixing."
