Daniel is very knowledgeable about all aspects of landscaping plants, materials and structures. He always gave us option a, b, c with pros and cons and pricing. We really listened to his suggestions which were great and often things we had not thought of. For example we had no plans of adding a water feature but it is now the favorite part of our yard. On the flip side some things I was very firm about and although I could tell he didn't necessarily agree he always did to my satisfaction.
My experience with any work I've ever had done is be prepared for the project to take a lot longer than you planned. No difference here.  Partially that was our fault as we would change our minds or decide to expand the project. I would say the job extended a good 6 weeks past the original estimated completion date so just keep that in mind. However the job was worth the wait and every time I drive up to my house or sit in the back yard I'm just so pleased.
That was not the case when about 5 years ago we had hired another landscape company to redo our deck, install drainage and replace pavers around our pool. The company, Manzanita Landscape,  I chose in part as they were diamond certified. What a mistake. I would never use them again. We spent close to 100K. Daniel came in and replaced part of the deck from the poor quality pipe they had used and we are having him come back this spring to help correct the poor job they did on the pavers.

Extremely difficult to deal with him,  and get him to finish the project .   He said it was a 2 or 3 week project but in 4 months it's still not complete ......other professionals who have looked at his work pointed out to me how he built it in such a way as  to need his constant service.... i.e. he put in plants that will die over the winter and need replacing and the filter is not adequate for the pond , also needing his constant service, and he's been very nasty about putting in one that will work.    he's been pretty unpleasant to deal with from the beginning, full of anger or excuses .......
I think he took advantage of me and built the pond in such a way as to create my dependence on him to keep it working.  I wouldn't mind that so much if I could depend on him to do as he promises but I can't .
Note:  6 months in the pond is leaking 2 inches a day .......
