COMET CONSTRUCTION

Comet NEVER returned our call; we left a message where we described, briefly, our bedroom remodel job and we requested a return call to see about his conming out and giving us an estimate.. Very unprofessional.. Still have not heard back... Must think the job is too little???? Will never use him in the future for any size job..

I contracted with Comet Construction to do an extensive remodel of my kitchen. Carl Portscheller, the owner, spent a considerable amount of time with me beforehand, showing me photos of work his company had completed, teaching me what I should ask for from a contractor (such as proof of insurance) even if I hired another company and asking me what I wanted. When I signed the contract, I received a calendar detailing the work to be done and the dates it would be done. This was a 9 week job which they finished on time and on budget. The subcontractors showed up when Comet said they would and the work was done when promised. Comet also installed a negative air pressure system to minimize the dust in the rest of the house, and they cleaned up daily, so I wasn't left with a lot of mess in the evening. My new kitchen is beautiful. The work was meticulously performed. The punch list had 1 item on it which was immediately addressed. I will continue to use Comet Construction and highly recommend them to anyone considering a remodel.

We had used Comet Construction for repairing a damaged exterior wall several years earlier and were very impressed with their
attention to detail and experience. We had multiple meetings with this company to determine the scope of work for the remodel on our 1970’s home and how it would be accomplished. During our planning, Comet Construction often offered new and better options for achieving our goals in increasing our energy efficiency and our general comfort in our home. They pulled together all the specialized skill workers and coordinated them flawlessly (painter, plumber, electrician, solar installer, roofers, HVAC, etc.) and worked with each of them, facilitating each step of the remodel. They also worked around our needs—limiting our exposure to dust and disruption—that enabled me to continue my full-time work as a telecommuter from my home office. All of their subcontractors were highly skilled, efficient and easy to work with. The work went as quickly as it could possibly go with no delays that were not clearly necessary (weather issues, mostly). Communication remained clear and up-to-date; all change orders were written up, agreed-on, and signed, eliminating any billing surprises. They cleaned up the job site every day and made sure that there was full protection of carpeting, walls, landscaping, pets and people during the work. We are very happy with the outcome and are now planning our next project with Comet Construction.
