His service charge is $175 a call. When I asked if he didn't have the correct part with him the first visit, would he charge for the second one to install after getting the part. He said 'yes', it's always $175 a call.
I decided not to go with him since I'm not interested in paying for time that wouldn't be a result of any deficit on my part.

He indicated it was not fixable after taking it all apart and put it back together. He offered to try to find parts for it. A plumber then came out and indicated the gas leak was extremely minimal. He was an A+ provider to work with.

He got the oven and broiler working within minutes when other repair techs left my kitchen scratching their heads.

They seem to do a good job. They seem to know their business. They are very well. They do what they were doing and they were courteous and came on time. I give them high marks. The grade of satisfaction we have was high and a little surprising.

It was wonderful. He's very kind and polite. He did great work and these are old parts that are hard to come by so sometimes he has to create his own parts, which he's also very good at doing.

This experience was excellent. I got an appointment quickly, he showed up when he said he would, and he did great work. I have an O'Keefe and Merritt stove that had one pilot light that wasn't coming on. Philip had that problem fixed in approximately 2 minutes. He then adjusted and cleaned all of the burners on the stove for no additional charge. Everything now works better than it ever had. I would definitely call him again.

They did a lot of work. It's an old stove obviously that was hooked on both sides. I had one side but just didn't have the other side. The leaks did not allow us to use the stove for about six months so I told you guys and found him. I loved him and I thought he was great. There was also some kind of safety valve which we didn't have but just had a block of wood which was very unsafe. The cost of the safety valve was most expensive because it was an old stove. The people who use to make it will make it and there are not many people that will do when they charge. I'm very happy with him. I think the price was fair. The big price was one item which was almost $270 and that was the safety valve. Without the safety valve this really would have been much cheaper. It was a personal choice whether I wanted it there or not. They wouldn't block it there for probably thirty or forty years so I feel safer now. This should have been done a long time ago and it would have been cheaper. He was on time, personable and nice. The quality of the repairs was excellent. He's the only one I would use. When I got the list, I may have called a place in Glendale who wouldn't do it because I was out of their area. I called another place in Wesley who wouldn't come again because I was out of their area. That was when I decided to join Angie's List. I spoke to him quite a bit while he was here and he is pretty flexible in where he goes. When I called him he was there later that afternoon.

I called Phillip and explained the problems we were having with our 1950s O'Keefe and Merritt stove. He gave me an estimate over the phone. He called ahead of time on the day of service, and was able to come early, and did an excellent job repairing our burners and stove. He was fast and courteous, and very knowledgeable about old stoves. He was able to give me a couple of pointers about using an older stove that were very helpful. I'm glad we were able to have our vintage stove repaired, rather than replaced. I would definitely use this company again--thanks!

I had my countertops redone and when they pushed the stove back in place, and lit the pilots, we got flame from where you are not supposed to! I have a fabulous antique O'Keefe and Merritt, and Vintage came out the same day, resolved the problem, fixed another and left me with my stove a'workin.

I called Phillip and asked him to look at a stove. We made an appointment and he called me ahead as he said he would, within the designated time frame. The house is a rental. He arrived before I did. The tenant let him in and reported to me that he spent no more than two-and-a-half minutes looking at the stove. She wanted to ask him questions, but he did not stop to speak to her. He said he had to leave. She called me and said he had gone, though I was only a minute away, driving up the street. When I arrived he was still in his car and got out. I wanted to go into the house and look at the stove with him, but he didn't want to go back inside, so we stood outside the house. He quoted me a price for the parts, not mentioning a cost for labor. I didn't think of it, because he didn't mention it. The cost was almost $400, which seemed a lot to spend on an old stove when new ones aren't that much more. I told me I'd have to think about it and call him. He said it would be $125.00 for the estimate. I was surprised, as he hadn't mentioned it when we set up the appointment, but nonetheless I said I would write him a check. I asked for a receipt. He seemed in a terrible hurry and said he would email or send me a receipt. I also said I wanted the estimate in writing. He wasn't prepared to furnish me with anything in writing. I insisted he at least write it on a piece of paper. We did. I totaled the costs he'd mentioned and then thought the $125 would be deducted from that. He said, no that comes out of labor, but at no time had he mentioned a labor cost. Of course it's perfectly reasonable to charge for labor, so then I asked how much labor would be and he said that it would probably be about that much, but it might be more. No specifics. Then as I was leaving I flagged him down and said, "When?" He said it would be when he located the parts, if he did. None of this gave me a feeling of confidence, and the tenant was uncomfortable with him too, so I called and told him to keep the deposit but that I didn't want to go forward with the job. Normally, vendors provide receipts for payment, and written estimates if they're collecting a fee for the estimate, or even if they're not. That's why I gave him an F for professionalism.

Prior to shutting the gas off for building repairs, a couple of the burners had not been working. Phillip turned on the gas, re-lit the four pilot lights, checked them, and, at my request, showed me how to light them myself. He explained that the pilot had probably just blown out due to a gust of wind. In total he spent about five minutes looking over the stove, said it was fine shape (it's 60 years old) and said he wouldn't charge me for the service call! I said I felt I should give him something, then he handed me his card and said he he didn't feel right about charging me.
