On Tuesday December 7, 2010, upon delivery I inspected my furniture, I told the delivery man that the slip covers were to big and did not fit properly. I refused to sign the acceptance slip and asked him if he could take them back. His response was that he could not, and for me to “wash and dry” them and they might shrink. I called Betty and she told me she would take care of it ASAP. I then also realized that my old worn-out cushions were inside the the brand new fabric. Needless to say, I was extremely upset. I immediately took them to the Toluca Lake store where Betty acted like it was no big deal. She said she would have everything picked up later that night to rectify the defective slip covers/cushions, but no-one ever called, nor did they show up. I called the following morning December 8, 2010 and spoke to Betty once again, she told me that someone would definitely come and pick them up later that day. I know you know where this is going..guess what, no call, no pick-up again. I called Betty and explained that my daughter had a Christmas program at her school and I could not wait around any longer. She told me that she would call me first thing in the morning and we would schedule a time later that day. Again, I waited and waited and no call. On DEC 9, 2010 I was forced to call Betty. She was very upset with me for calling again and proceeded to ask me if I was bipolar. Are you kidding, a customer service sales person asking a customer if they are bipolar?? I was speechless and could not believe what she said. I tried to get someone on the phone to figure this out, but no one would talk to me nor would they call me back.They finally called weeks later when the bank notified them regarding the dispute. They were extremely rude!! I have lost all faith in this company and after doing a lot of research I'm not the only person that they have ripped off........ VERY SAD! I've been asking for my money back, I have waited, and waited and NOTHING!! The behavior of this company is unbelievable and unethical. I had to take them to small claims court, I won both times, yes they tried to appeal it and I won again! Here we are in 2012 and I'm still trying to collect. This COMPANY IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! PLEASE please, do research on them first. Read all reviews. That was my first mistake!! At this point it's not about the money, it's about the general principle!!THIS HAPPENED AT THE TOLUCA LAKE AND BURBANK LOCATION!!!! VIC KARAPETIAN IS A THIEF!!!! READ ALL REVIEWS ON HIM. I had a hard time deciding what kind of sofa to buy (i.e. color, size, hard or softness of cushions, etc) and the staff was nice but not overly helpful in making suggestions. I would have liked the saleslady to provide a little more direction using her experience and expertise! However, the service was very good and they delivered as promised within a few weeks of my order. The sofas look great and are exactly what we ordered. (This doesn't often happen on special orders.) The delivery men were very helpful and nice as well. Overall we are very appy and would use them again and recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: I ordered a sectional sofa from the Santa Monica store. I visited the store three times before I placed my order because I needed to gather infromation and then go home and digest the information. They let me borrow a few fabric books to choose a material.

Overall, I am fairly happy with my sofa and chair. They were able to order the fabric which I found at another store and fell in love with, which was great. But I do think the sofas you can buy at Pottery Barn are nicer. It may be because I got slipcovers instead of upholstery, but still the slipcovered sofas at PB look better. So I think I would have been happier with a Pottery Barn sofa in the end. But next time, However, my friend is happy with the sofa she just got from them.

We needed a new sofa and wanted one similar to the one we already had though a foot smaller. I brought in a swatch of fabric from the old sofa, and gave them the exact size I wanted. Two weeks later (exactly as they had stated) the new sofa was in my living room and perfect!
