Professional, knowledgeable, courteous and honest. My phone call caught them inbetween jobs so they hustled over to my house, arriving 20 minutes after my call. They dug into the ground and told me what my options might be. I was anticipating having to spend several thousand dollars digging a new trench from the house to the water main. This house was built in 1946 and this was the original line. However, upon digging into the problem (sic), they proposed first trying to simply replace the portion of the spigot pipe that connected to the main line - a much cheaper solution, if it worked. I agreed that we should give it a try - and it worked. These guys could have taken me for a lot more money and I would have been none the wiser. The work was done in about an hour, including a trip to the store to buy some parts. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Description of Work: Jeff and Eric turned the water off at the main, remembering to crack the nut to make sure that the main was completely off and dry. They dug into the ground near the bubbling spigot. There were some bricks and large pieces of cement in the way that required some extra digging. They found that the pipe connecting to the water main was completely severed/disintegrated. They cut the old pipe off and replaced it with new copper pipe. The spigot end and the water main end were not lined up straight, so they spliced two separate pieces of pipe together to make the connection, sealing it with solder. They tested several times to make sure the seal was good. They refilled the hole they had dug, rehung the hose reel on the side of the house and even replaced the washer so I could use my hose right away. They cleaned up my sidewalk and left the site in better shape than it was when they arrived.
