Jose Lemus - Contractor

Great experience. Jose was prompt. This job took two days. He talked us through some options, especially about sanding. We wanted to minimize the amount of dust that would accumlate in the rest of the house. As it turned out, there wasn't any, except in the bathroom, and that was easily removed. He put up plastic sheeting to prevent drift, and used a small sander after first removing most of the existing varnish with a liquid gel. He put on two or three coats of Varathane. He had to remove the toe-molding very carefully, since the house is old (1939) and that particular molding is no longer available -- it had to match at the corners with the existing molding. So he removed it carefully and replaced it afterward. I was especially happy with the repairs he made to the walls in the closet, which looked to me nearly hopeless. I think he had two helpers the first day and one the second. There was no interruption in the work while he went to service other customers, which is a problem we have often experienced. The floors are beautiful! Excellent work, fair price, very reliable service. We will keep him as our handyman.

Jose recently renovated a townhouse that we are renting out and he did a
fantastic job. His prices are reasonable, he is easy to contact at any
time, and most importantly after our experiences with other
contractors, he finished our job ON TIME with no delays. His work was
very high quality overall, especially the work he did on installing
hardwood floors and smoothing our popcorn ceilings. Even when most
contractors would have said they were and quot;doneand quot; and bailed, Jose stuck
around and fixed up every little nitpicky item I pointed out in the
house.
Jose is really just a great honest guy overall and was a
pleasure to work with - I would recommend him highly if you need a
contractor in the LA area.
