The contractor John delayed finishing painting my small condo while he worked on other bigger projects. Several things such as my new wood door jams and casings were damaged. The painter,Juan, cleaned his tools by scratching up my new stainless steel sink and damaged my sliding glass door threshold with deep scratches. A cabinet door handle was replaced obviously crookedly. Sealer/lacquer was dripped on my bathroom floor and cabinet. All electrical outlets had open holes around them and several did not get finished. The painting had to be redone several times. The contractor charged every time even though they did not finish the work at all. They left many cans of paint and heavy buckets full of paint supplies and large heavy bags of paint supplies on my balcony so I had to remove them myself appropriately of course. There was no proposal made so he justified the year or more delay of service paid. The color if paint used on the exterior stucco was way too light; did not match.

He is a bit pricey, but his work is really good. His workers are polite and get the job done on time. Some of the work he has done was over 5 years ago and everything is holding up (as it should be!), but you never know what you are going to get sometimes. I have recommended him to friends and I know they were pleased with his work, too.

I have used them twice and they provide a detailed estimate. They show up on time and finish the work on time. Everything is holding up great. I have no problems with them and I have referred them to one of my neighbors.

Second time Mr. Whyton has worked for me. Job was repairing cracks in front exterior stairs of an apt bldg. He met the schedule he gave me and there was a small glitch in completion. But he returned to job site within hours of my call. Completed the fixes and I'm very satisfied with his work.

They were professional; quiet; punctual; and not only will I have them back for further work if the occasion arises, my relative plans to have them work at another site.

John Whyton came out and gave me an estimate the day after I called him. He provided me with a written estimate within 2 days. I called him and he scheduled the work for the next day; very prompt service. His carpenter, John Brett did the work. My building is 60 years old; when the wood-rotted fascia was removed, we discovered damage to several eaves. Those were repaired prior to putting up the new fascia. John worked at the same time as my painting crew and they worked well together to ensure all new wood was well primed before being replaced. The work area was cleaned up each day and John Whyton checked on the job at least twice a day.

After several bids for the same or higher amount from flaky handymen (one even ripped out the stairs and then quit the job), John Whyton was referred to us by a neighbor. He had a responsible crew of 3, delivered a typed estimate in person, drew skilled architectural sketches for us, completed the project in a timely manner, and even handled cranky HOA oversight with good British humor and positive nature. This included a requirement to upgrade the wood after it had already been purchased, which he did not charge us extra labor to do. I looked forward to the next job I could hire him for. That was to patch and paint a large hole in the bathroom ceiling that had been cut out for pipe repair and leak damage. A quick job, $350, including painting the whole bathroom.
