Wooden fence came out great. Arian worked with us to use some other materials that allowed our bougainvillea to join with a section of fencing.

It went well they did a nice job.

I liked Harwell because they seemed like knowledgeable, creative people who wanted to do a quality job. First, Arian didn't tell us that he would be subcontracting the work to an independent fencing subcontractor. The fencing subcontractor arrived, but he had no helpers. I told Arian he needed a team or at least a helper. Arian told me that he didn't know why the fencer didn't bring a a helper and said the subcontracting fencer had told Arian he would bring one. I asked the fencer why he didn't have a helper. He said that Arian was going to provide the helper. When on some days the subcontractor didn't show up until the afternoon, I asked Arian where he was. Arian said that he didn't know where "that guy" was and he would definitely be firing him after this job. Arian took ZERO responsibility for the person doing the work. The whole project took weeks longer than anticipated because lack of people working on it and workers arriving late in the day. There were days when no one worked on it. The subcontractor sometimes came after regular working hours indicating that he had another job during the day that he was working on. They used a spray paint to paint the fence which got paint all over the stucco of the buildings the fence came in contact with. I had to hire a painter to come in and fix the mess they made. And then the fence gate would not latch. One side had slipped making it impossible for the fence to lock or even latch. Arian came back once to fix it - it worked for about a week and then slipped again and wouldn't latch. I had had such an incredibly bad time working with them that I had no desire to see Arian again or deal with him or his excuses as to why the work was not being done, that I paid someone else to come and fix the latch and the lock. The fence they put in does look good in the end mostly because the subcontractor did a good job even though he had no help and was working other jobs at the same time. I wonder what Arian paid him; i imagine it was much less than what I paid Arian. The job took a ridiculously long time and Arian kept telling me how busy he was and far behind they had gotten. It was really quite unbelievable. Arian once told me that he could sell anything. - And that's true. He certainly sold me. Don't let him sell you.

Here is where it gets bad: He told us he'd be willing to come out ONLY if we gave him a $100 for the estimate; he stated that we could apply the cost of the estimate to the cost of the fencing. My husband and I discussed it and felt we were willing to try Arian given the interaction we'd had with him so far. He came out and talked with us for about 15-20 minutes. We said that we wanted to go with him, and confirmed that the $100 would be applied to the job. We found him to be affable and knowledgeable. He said yes, and that his timeline to begin work for us was about 4-6 weeks. We were fine with this as we were not in a rush. He gave us some leads as to vendors for materials to determine the range/cost of materials we wanted to consider in the meantime. After my husband called twice and left messages, left text messages on his personal cell number, and called the office number, we received no response from Arian. This has been about two months. It would have been understandable if WE had decided to go with someone else and therefore forfeited the $100 for his coming out. HOWEVER, since we wanted to work with him, it is dishonest and unethical for him to take our money and give us nothing in return save for a 20 minute conversation. We feel ripped off. He should at least refund the $100 since he likely did not intend to take our job. So, please be careful with Arian, who scammed us out of $100 for an estimate we shouldn't have had to pay for in the first place. Arian, it is fine if you don't want our business, but don't take our money and ignore us. The decent thing would be to give us a refund if you didn't want our business, just as we would have willingly accepted forfeiting the $100 had we gone with another contractor. It would have been the decent and professional thing to do. My husband left a message a couple of weeks ago on the office line. No response. BTW, folks, I was told that one should NEVER have to pay for an estimate. Live and learn, and it cost us $100 for the lesson.

Came home tonight and the wind had blown the gate completely off the posts putting the security of my home and pets in jeopardy. The worst work I've ever had done on my home. Would NEVER again use this vendor!!!

Deadbeat.

They said they wanted my job and then said they were too busy for my job, and perhaps it would have taken a bit more careful time, however, if they are charging 50% more than the average fence company, I thought this would not be out of the ordinary. I did not want to do anything that was not to the building codes and safety is very important.  I am disappointed with how I was treated and perhaps this all was for the best as I have learned when these things happen they might be saving me for future poor work.

Great communication and job went very well.

Arian Harwell and his crew arrived when they said they would,  and they did a workmanlike job on a very basic, budget fence.  They were prompt, courteous, and pleasant, and they erected the fence very quickly.  Then after two weeks of letting the wood cure, they returned and weatherproofed it.  This fence is not fancy, but that's what a budget fence is.  We were very pleased with the work and gladly would recommend Harwell.

* Smart critical thinking in creating a taller fence area for the garbage area and providing perfect space usage for two parked cars in the driveway, with a pathway on both sides.
* Arian's crew also landscaped the front garden inside of the fence.  They took out extraneous plants, trimmed down some others, cut down dead wood, and cleaned up the whole thing (my lawn trash was completely full and they hauled all the rest away).  
* The whole space can BREATHE now and has more CURB APPEAL (which raises the property values).  
* They created this customized fence and landscaped the front yard in just two days!  I didn't really know what it would look like until the 2nd day - and it EXCEEDED my expectations!
They were personable, friendly, knowledgeable and good people!  I highly recommend Harwell Fencing and Gates! 

He came out and was very professional. His pricing was very good. The wall looks very good as well. He was very prompt and followed up with me. I would use him again. I did refer him to a neighbor.

My neighbor in the rear has the most hidious shed in their back yard that I could see over my block wall.
My wall was not tall enough to block it.
I sent an email last year telling them I was interested but not just yet, they gave me all the info I needed at that time.

Now I am working on my backyard trying to make it as comfortable as possible wiithou breaking the bank.  I called them again in Feb and they came right out and gave me an estimate.  Told me that I could have the wall in approximately 30 days once they drew up the document and I paid a deposit.  I also provided them a sample to take with them to match the color I wanted.

It has been less than a month and I am looking at the exact wall I imagined before I even called them. 

It is a 2'H Wood Wall with Horizontal 2"x4"'s and the paint matches the other trim on my house perfectly.

Harwell Fencing & Gates (fka L.A. Creative Woodworks) built my fencing about 6 months ago. They removed and replaced horrible chain link fence that surrounded my property with a contemporary style fence. They even did custom work to surround a fountain and to mount torch boxes. Arian and his team's work was fantastic and he came out several times to check on the work and touch up places.  Arian is very proud of his work, and he takes it very seriously.  He gave us options to address our budget limitations, and he came in at a lower cost than our general contractor's bid (and the GC is not a specialist in fencing like Arian). We are very pleased with his work, and I have recommended him several times since his work was completed.
