Best ever work !! The current HVAC system in the house I recently purchased was not working at all. Drew and his team completely upgraded the HVAC system and got it working in less than 2 days. He explained what he could do, how he would do it, and did it quickly and on time. Highly recommended.

Drew responded immediately, came over quickly, was incredibly friendly, helpful, and even after solving the problem went above and beyond to check out our heating unit in a way others before had not, and found legitimate problems that need to be remedied. I was very impressed with him.

Although I had to reschedule the night before our appointment, Drew was able to reschedule within a few days. A prior contractor messed up the thermostat installation, but Drew was able to finish the job in less than an hour. Excellent work.

Drew was my first project interview and I was impressed by his knowledge and thoroughness. He raised the subject of city permits and possible rebates, which I appreciated. The other two companies I interviewed didn't mention those items and pooh-poohed them when I raised the subject. I give Drew's installers high marks as they were very professional, worked efficiently and the project was done on time. Of the three bids, Drew was the best price for a system I felt was tailored to my house and needs. As Drew predicted, I'm wondering why I didn't put in central heating and air years ago.

I just had my entire heating and cooling system replaced by Hackney Inc. Drew Hackney was the most knowlegeable and thorough HVAC contractor of the five that bid on the project. He was the only person that performed a complete home energy survey as part of his proposal. The survey allowed him to dial in the exact equipment for the highest efficiency system for the job. The components he recommended were all highly rated, quality products from top to bottom. Additionally, Drew was the only contractor that was aware of all of the rebates available from the state and energy companies, $1,950 of rebates in my case. And, after the Upgrade California HERS inspection, the inspector indicated the installation, including all new duct work (the 30 year old duct work was shredded), was just about perfect. The ducting was rated at 97.5% efficiency. The new furnace is 95% efficient, and Hackney ran all new coolant lines to the 16 SEER compressor. With the rebates, and using superior equipment, the price was less than 3 of the other 4 bids.

make sure you ask if the new furnace will be loud. as my new furnace is noisier than my old one. And I did add this recommended sound barrier, but it helped a little but not much.

"I did take the time to explain the new furnace had an additional exhaust motor compared to the old furnace that was gravity vented. All new furnaces today have the same type of exhaust for the venting, and produce a little more sound. Unfortunately the furnace is located in a closet directly off the end of the hallway exposing the sound to the entire open area. Unfortunately there is no way to relocate the furnace in an attic. I did recommend adding a soundboard to the door to help baffle the sound. We did respond in a timely manner and performed a thorough and professional installation, and was disappointed to see that we were only awarded a"

I own a small commercial building in Santa Monica. Hackney Heating and Air installed a complete A/C system in our building for $200,000. One half of the system has never worked properly, and I have learned recently from Samsung, who manufactures the equipment, that what we have is definitely not the proper application for the equipment we were sold. Drew tried for about 18 months to get the system working, and always had excuses for why it was not working properly. Often, it was our tenant*s problem, not the equipment. We have since had 3 other A/C companies, as well as the factory technicians from Samsung attempt to get the equipment working properly; they all say it will never work as it is the wrong equipment for the job. We have now hired another company to take out the new equipment Hackney installed and replace it with what has been recommended by Samsung. This will cost an additional $85,000. We are not happy!

Heat Pump Installation and Replacement
Hackney did a really good job installing heat pump at my condo. Their staffs are very professional. The price is very reasonable. Drew took pictures from rooftop and show them to me. He explained in details of installation steps and most importantly he put them in writing. His proposal tell you the scope of the work to be done and warranty provided. (Other contractors came to give estimate, but not put details in writing. Installer came on time, very nice, clean, and professional. Great company to work with.

I got two bids to replace my old forced air heater. The first man I talked to said the job would take two days, and would require breaking through the wall to remove the old heater. Thus, the job would take require two days because of replastering and repainting. Hackney took seven hours, and did NOT break the wall to remove the old heater. My house is finally warm again. ð¤ Hackneyâs bid was $200

Replace 40+ year old central AC and heating unit. Very prompt response for both estimate and actual work. A crane was needed to move units from and to the roof of three story house. Drew took care of all permits and the installation was completed in just one day, including all cleanup. We are very pleased with this job, We definitely recommend Hackney for this type of work.

I wanted to replace an aging heating and and cooling system. But the situation became urgent when the gas heater started leaking exhaust unto the the ducts. Drew Hackney presented a minimum sales pitch discussion of the units required. He was able to satisfy the urgency by having his team start just two days later.
