COX PAINTS INC

MAJOR ATTITUDE PROBLEM. I ordered $600 in wallpapers from this store in October 2008, and purchased over $200 in paint. For one of the 2 papers, I told the salesperson I needed 4 rolls, as instructed by my paperhanger. She said that since the rolls were "double rolls", I only needed 2. I asked if she was certain, as my paperhanger had been very clear; she said she was. Of course, when my paperhanger arrived to prepare the walls, he saw what I'd gotten and repeated that I needed a total of 4 rolls, not 2. Unable to get in touch with the salesperson at Cox to have the other 2 rolls over-nighted to me, I found another store in Santa Monica that put in the order for the extra rolls. I paid $75 to have UPS ship the order overnight. Later that day, the salesperson at Cox returned the call I d made to her that morning. I told her what had happened, and requested (nicely) that the store consider reimbursing me the shipping charge. She, then the owner of the store, Nita Burt, told me she d done nothing wrong , that she had ordered the correct number of rolls (2, rather than 4!), and there was no reason the store should pay the shipping charge. I told each that I had questioned the salesperson s order of only 2 rolls at the time I placed my order. Again, each insisted the saleswoman had done nothing wrong. To say both of the women I spoke with were rude would be vastly understating the attitude. The owner was particularly nasty. At no point was there an apology or even a suggestion that there may have been a misunderstanding. Moreover, when I told the owner that I d spent over $800 at the store recently, she told me she didn't like "being manipulated like that," and there would be no reimbursement. Interestingly, that morning, before any of this happened, I'd been told that Cox has a major attitude problem.
