This was a terrible experience. Almost 10 months after we made our initial offer, we had to withdraw it after seller's agent was unable to provide the necessary documents to complete the sale. The process of trying to get documents and approvals went on for months, after months of inactivity, inexplicable unreturned phone calls and emails, as deadline after deadline passed. A house that should have been a sure sale, with the 2010 $8000 first time homebuyer tax-rebate, instead ended up as a no sale, long after we'd inspected it thoroughly and even did a termite treatment on the house. The house ended up being withdrawn from the market (possibly foreclosed?), after dropping the price more than $30K below what we had offered, 3 months after we withdrew our offer. It was a tremendous waste of our time, and a waste of money, and a proper agent could have made the sale; it seemed like he didn't care whether the house sold or not.
