Bay Screens & Shades

BUYER BEWARE. I rarely take the time to write a review, but in this case a "buyer beware" is necessary and may save someone from the horrible experience I have had with Bay Screens. Bay installed my original shades and window treatments when I built my house, and I have spent over $51,000 with them since then. Motors controlling the shades have broken as have shades themselves. Each time the service call is astronomical in price. Recently a motor again failed, and Bay charged me $2,600 to "fix it". However, the shade did not work and Bay blamed my Savant system despite the fact that all other shades continued to work. When I asked them to come out again to troubleshoot the tech told me "your motor doesn't work" apparently not knowing his team had done the installation. They then charged me $330 to tell me this (for which the tech was there for five minutes). When I complained to Lynda about this she told me "we did go there and access the situation" and "these are the terms of our service calls". HORRIBLE. Choose someone else and save yourself the hassle with Bay.

The process was extremely smooth, prompt and professional. Bob came for an estimate, measured, sent me an email with the estimate the following day, used the 10% discount coupon from Angie's List, received a call to set up a time for install a couple of weeks later, they came and installed perfectly.

We had a very positive experience working w/Bay Shades. Their professionalism, promptness, and craftsmanship was excellent. This statement can be made after our order hit a snag with the company. Not only did the owner, Greg Amato, come to see what the problem was, but he also eliminated a $460 balance because we were unhappy with the darts and seams in the final product. Please note the shades are beautiful and when you order from any company, remember the sample does not always fully represent the final product. If you are smart enough to work with Bay Shades, they will work with you until you are happy. It's worth the extra pennies and time.

I called the office and they were very friendly over the phone. I was told if I brought my screens in to be rescreen they could be done in 5-7 working days. The screen shop was very helpful and showed me all the types of screening material I could use and asked what hardware I needed. When I picked up my screens in 5 days they looked like new.

THE CONTACT PERSON WITH THE COMPANY WAS EXCELLENT & RESPONSIVE. SOMETIMES THE WORKERS AREN'T AS PUNCTUAL. I HAVE HAD TIMES WHERE THEY HAVE STRUNG THE SHADES & THEY DIDN'T WORK, BUT THEY DID COME BACK & REDO THEM FREE OF CHARGE.
